Although money doesn't always equal success, it can be an indicator of skill. And one aspect of Atletico that has surprised me since yesterday is basically how much they've spent on their entire team.
We all knew that Forlan and Aguero were stars and together are worth more than our entire squad, but players like Simao, Raul Garcia and most others cost Atletico between 10-20 million euros each.
Rhetorical question but of the team we fielded last night who cost the most, and how much did they cost? I honestly cannot think of it.
So to think we took them to the brink is just that much more remarkable.
