It sounds like taking Taarabt back rather than sending him out on loan again would've been worth a shot. Apart from Austin, none of their strikers have shown any inclination that they'll score goals this season. Both Johnson and Zamora hadn't played in the lower divisions for at least seven years before this season.

Taarabt was QPR's top scorer during their promotion season, therefore proven recently at Championship level, he's shown signs of being a competent striker whilst here at Fulham and, most importantly, he's free. Sure, he might be as inconsistent as Michael J. Fox's hand-eye co-ordination, but he could've done a job.
