Title: man of the match -- man of the season AND A HALF

Steve Sidwell. What a captain's innings.

If he's not in the weekend's best XI, somebody needs shooting.

I think most people agree with you at the moment, however, if he has a bad match against Liverpool....

Yes Sidwell was motm however I think most of the team played very well today, especially the back 4. Burn and Hetinga were brilliant with the 81 crosses that came in.

I would have picked Burn, but Sidwell was at his absolute best today, so I can't fault the pick.  It was up to him to close down the wide players so the back 4 could hold their shape, and he was everywhere on the pitch.

(I really, really wish he was a better passer.)

I agree, I would pick Burn but you can't take it away from Sidwell, he worked his socks off today. Shocking performance but great result! Bring on Liverpool!

Stek, Sidders, Burn - hard to split. Honourable mention to Richardson as well.

He is not in Garth Crooks team of the week. I thought he and Burn would be in. Maybe Stek, too.

Sidwell - his talking and organising were a big part of this.

Stekelenburg, Richardson, Holtby and Burn were all excellent yesterday.
