Perhaps Houghton, upon hearing this (possibly only slightly sooner than we), reached out to a contact within the club who gave him more detail than has been reported.
Perhaps he made it all up.
Yes I've seen Houghton at matches when he's been between jobs. Must be a bit of a Fulham supporter
