Title: I know it is tough to be positive at present.....
Post by: Beamer on March 02, 2014, 08:28:28 AM
given that it is difficult to see any light at the end of the tunnel and some of the things going on at the club are difficult to fathom but a win at Cardiff and home to Newcastle would put us right back in the mix. OK the available pool of clubs to overtake is shrinking but we only need 3 below us to survive and even if it is hard to be confident it is still very achievable given our fixtures.
I think it could all go down to the last day but if we cannot take 6 points from the next 2 games games it may well be over then.
Fingers and everything else are well and truly crossed.

Lets have some honesty around here. Were not even in the mix! West Brom last week on paper is easier than Newcastle away and it didn't happen. Felix has got to get used to the weakness and the strengths of the team. Sorry but the day Mr Khan sacked Jol and did not get the right man in he relegated us. Please get used to it.
I'm not even sure that Mcgath is the man to get us promoted next season.

I agree, he's never been relegated so presumably he's never been promoted?

He's won a lot of leagues though so suppose that is similar...

We are in tatters, a terrible defence, a midfield that is burnt out after 45 minutes, a target man that just cannot win balls in the air or hold up play and a keeper that is looking a little shaky at times.

We are in no shape for a sudden recovery and no amount of tough training is going to put all of our problems right overnight.

Oh yes we have a £12m star goalscorer that has been with us for a month, played 45minutes but is not yet fit.

Start thinking of the Championship.

I think our new boss is for next season. I do think there will Mac changes at the end of the season but not our boy Felix

i can be positive by picking a team that has better balance
with the squad we have i would suggest the following

stockers (who i have far greater faith in)
reither burn heitinga riis
kvist
kaka or dejagah, sidwell, kasami or karagounis richardson
holtby hugo

the thinking here is kvist sits deep and supports the central defenders allowing kasami and sidwell to break whenever they can..... kaka will be fired up because he hasn't featured for a while (my hope)... i am mighty unimpressed with the goalkeeper and prefer stockers.....  i think there is energy and commitment a plenty in the team and that is what we need. but to stop conceeding it is imperative we have somebody that sits, the whole game in front of the center backs..... I have assumed bred is out for a week or two.

if mitro is fit i might play him but because we have seen nothing of him (well 45 very poor minutes that the manager has explained as unfitness) i can't comment. I certainly would suggest he does not join the greek squad and we do everything we can to stop that happening.

tankovitch would feature somewhweere down the line, and maybe a spell longer on the bench might just wake parker up a bit..

When I get low over this, I think of us coming back to win at Man City from 2-0 down. I remain positive for the time being but if we don't win next week I think that will be it.
