Title: the chairman
Post by: nose on April 12, 2014, 10:20:17 PM
there in the first half but nowhere to be seen in the second.
what was that about?
we should be all in it together and he has gone missing, he should take a leaf ot of MAFs book and show up!

I'm sure he was still there.

You sure he didn't go to the Cottage? Or watched from a box rather than the Directors area?

Seems like a bit of an unnecessary thing to complain about.

Seems like a bit of an unnecessary thing to complain about.

it is the art of good management to be seen and lead from the front.

Maybe he moved elsewhere just to see what it was all about, maybe he was in the cottage, in which case no problem, but i hope he didn't go at half time.

I think you, Nose, famous complainer about everything Fulham, should buy the club and show us how it is done, or push off.

I think it's time we sang a few chants in his honour, instead of always Al Fayed.

if i had the s[omdoo;ils I would have purchased the club and showed you hopw it should be done.

However, as i feel sure you know, I complain about what is wrong and exhalt what is right. however, i feel sure you only read what you want to read and miss the rest. It is such a shame that you never see error in our great club, you only seem to want to shoot the messenger.

It is wonderful to have you back martin.

for ovewr 50 years rain or shine, good times and bad i have gone to watch fulham...
i think it a bit rich for people to have a go at me for merely observing that the chairman seemed to disapear at half time of the most important game of the season... or to observe we have wasted fortunes on berba, ruiz and now the so called injured greek or that jol was a complete waste of space that undid all the good work that went before.

Shame you all think such rank bad management was somehow impressive and not worth commenting is astonishing.

I complain when things are wrong, I want them to better because they can be.

Push off? What a disgraceful thing to say to me, such a 100% comited supporter, you should both be ashamed of yourselves!

I have criticised the chairman for similar earlier in the season but credit to him for being there today when it mattered. I'm sure he was about for the second half as I've seen him in photos with people after the game.

Have changed my mind in him and think he has just been misled by he likes of Macintosh. He also seems to have cooled off on the relentless promotion of the Jaguars (rightly, the fans would be furious given our current situation) and learnt his lesson there.

We all know that somehow you are think you are superior to the rest of us. Maybe it's time for a bit of self examination. Let's keep it civil guys.... Nose asked a question, maybe he could have been different in his approach, but I think the abuse he has recieved is a bit over the top.

I am almost certain he would not have left at HT on such a big game. Perhaps he had other contacts to see in the ground and watched from a box.

I think Khan deserves a bit of praise, and maybe some gratitude from the Fulham faithful, he is a great chairman compared to many others in the league at the moment. A song for Khan would be a nice touch if we were to stay up or even sung at the next home game.

I can't see that Khan's done a lot wrong.

He was prepared to put his hand deep in his pocket in Jan, and it's not his fault if our major signing hasn't worked out...so far.

Though, re the Jan signings - our other signings have proved very successful -Holtby (I know he's on loan, but how important could he prove to be?), Heitinga, Kwist.

I would have to say that unless you KNOW that Khan was not present for the second 45 then perhaps your speculation about what is wrong is what some people find is unacceptable, and what Berba and Ruiz has to do with Khan, is a little beyond me, really.

I tend to have a cup half full, and would wish to believe that he was likely at the Cottage for the whole game, unlike those who might have a cup half empty, and believe the worst in everybody.

Of course he wouldn't have left at half time. When we were 1-0 up in our biggest game of the season.

Why was anyone paying attention to him anyway when there was a game of football going on?

I'm neither a fan of our a Chairman and neither am I against him, same applies to our manager or any of our players, I am though a fan of Fulham Football Club and everything it stands for and always will be,
I can tell you this though, our Chairman was stood at the back of The Riverside Stand for an hour before kick off talking to fans and he was still stood there at 20 to 3 when I went to take my seat,
How many other Chairman would have done that before such an important game ?

Khan seems a pretty decent bloke to me. First season, finding his feet and he has been given poor advice along the way it would seem.
I saw him chatting to fans too. Can you imagine Vincent Tan or Tiger Allam (1) doing this and (2) having the media savvy and easy going persona and rapport to pull it off?
For all his perceived faults and errors of judgement, Khan seems a safe bet to me and for that alone we should be damn thankful. Next season he does need a chant !

He was out the back of Riverside stand at half time. I was standing out with a beer and he came over and said hello, even gave people 'the nod' who were a little to far out of earshot to speak to. He was on his way from the exit of the Riverside stand heading around the Putney end, so yeah, odds are he was heading to the cottage. No way would he have left.

I will tell you what though, that moustache is without peer. Absolutely glorious.

It would be a great show of respect for everyone to have a stuck on stache for the Palace game to show their support for him.

ONE - He's the chairman of out club, and without such chairmen as himself, willing to put THEIR OWN money where their mouths are, clubs like ours would still be struggling to survive in the lower leagues.

At least be grateful he could, and did, do what the rest of us on this MB could not, at least for that.

With the jaguars notr being all that and us doing so poorly this season he could just walk away, and then what might happen?

I believe Khan left the Riverside just before halftime as he was after a half n half scarf as he didn't have time to purchase one before the game.

On a more serious note, given how precious his time is, why on earth would anyone in their position want to chat to no marks like us for over an hour?  I say fair play to him for making the effort.

They are doing what comes naturally surprised he  snared two big hitters  :022:

Besides Nose does have a valid point ........... as Mr Khan's time is precious and it is a time that we all need to be singing in the same key,  he should have been in high Viz mode between 14:30 and  17:00.

C'mon everyone.
I looked through my binos at the Riverside in the 2nd half and couldn't see him but that doesn't mean he wasn't somewhere else in the ground.
Surely the right time to judge him as temporary custodian of our great club is at the end of the season and what happens after that?
There are very few clubs where the fans sing  complementary songs about Chairmen.  I hope someone had told him that and explained why MAF is still sung about.  Hopefully one day SK will get the same treatment.

I think the problem Nose, is your assumption that he left. After asking the question you then went on to answer yourself assuming the negative (re all in it together/untied front and all that)

I'm also going to need visual proof of all this money he's putting into to the club.
Is he even really a billionaire? Looks like a hobo in a suit.
Are the Jacksonville Jaguars even real? Maybe this is all a publicity stunt. I mean, I've never even seen the Jaguars.

Come to think of it, that glorious tache doesn't look real either. HE'S A FRAUD. THE AMERICAN/PAKISTANI...wait, is he even American? Or Pakistani!?!?! FRAUD.

No. Sorry.

I'm sure he was there. I'm sure if, in the very unlikely event he wasn't, he has an extremely valid reason. I'm sure this complaint is maybe a little unnecessary.

Gosh
After such an important victory, and everyone feeling great these exchanges have dampened the euphoria.
Can't we all just feel good for a week or is the relief and positive vibes too unfamiliar for us?????

Nose.

It is not acceptable on this forum to call other fans out as to whether they are 'real' fans based on which matches they attended, or how long they have been following the club.

We are ALL Fulham fans on this forum, and any further such posts will be removed. No, I wasn't at one or more of the matches mentioned, and I feel insulted that my 50+ years of supporting my club is called intro question because of that.

I think you, Nose, famous complainer about everything Fulham, should buy the club and show us how it is done, or push off.

if i had the s[omdoo;ils I would have purchased the club and showed you hopw it should be done.

However, as i feel sure you know, I complain about what is wrong and exhalt what is right. however, i feel sure you only read what you want to read and miss the rest. It is such a shame that you never see error in our great club, you only seem to want to shoot the messenger.

It is wonderful to have you back martin.

It is wonderful to be back too..cometh the hour as they say!

:plus one:

for ovewr 50 years rain or shine, good times and bad i have gone to watch fulham...
i think it a bit rich for people to have a go at me for merely observing that the chairman seemed to disapear at half time of the most important game of the season... or to observe we have wasted fortunes on berba, ruiz and now the so called injured greek or that jol was a complete waste of space that undid all the good work that went before.

Shame you all think such rank bad management was somehow impressive and not worth commenting is astonishing.

I complain when things are wrong, I want them to better because they can be.

Push off? What a disgraceful thing to say to me, such a 100% comited supporter, you should both be ashamed of yourselves!

Missed the Chairman going anywhere as I was watching the pitch...

Martinsback is a Official Troll much like Nick Bateman  ...............
They are doing what comes naturally surprised he  snared two big hitters  :022:

Besides Nose does have a valid point ........... as Mr Khan's time is precious and it is a time that we all need to be singing in the same key,  he should have been in high Viz mode between 14:30 and  17:00.

Now I though Bateman was a Fulham fan? I was a season ticket holder H5 and H7 (and of course at Loftus road) for many years until the youngest were born and my wife was made redundant..not sure that that makes me a Troll, official or otherwise?
