Title: Fulham team in Brazil
Post by: res on June 23, 2014, 11:40:10 AM
I make it Dempsey, Ruiz, Senderos, Dejagah, Adranik, Halliche. The last 2 had only a few minutes playing time for us despite 3 year contracts , but looked hopeless...so a bit surprising to see them in the World Cup.

John Marshal was mentioned as being a part of the England set up watching the Costa Rica v Uruguay game. So Ray and Roy and John.

Haven't seen the USA play yet because both their games were the late kick off, are boca or eddie johnson in the squad?

Has boateng played for ghana?
Does anyone remember having a defender called leijer, is he in the aussie squad?

Can't think of any others who could of been picked

Bocanegra and Johnson are not in the US Squad.
Boateng played against Germany (and his brother!).
Princess is not in the Australian squad.

The Boateng who played for Fulham isn't one of the Boatengs who's playing in the World Cup.

So adding in Mitroglu, Karagounis, Enoh, Dembele, Salcido and then have players that have yet to play like Smalling... I'd also add in coaches and managers as they still count... Roy and Ray.

Title: Fulham team in Brazil

Hi Friends of Fulham,

So far as I can see, there are 11 (ex) players of Fulham involved in the World Cup in Brazil. So we could make a team. The only problem is that there is no (former) goalkeeper over there. So let's put Mitroglu in the goal! If you have a better idea........ Maybe I do miss a player, in that case tell me. The line up could be:

                     Mitroglu

Senderos - Halliche - Smalling - Salcido

Ruiz - Karagounis - Dembele - Timourian

                Dejagah - Dempsey

The question is: would this team have enough PL potency?

Kasey Keller is over there commentating, so that could work.

And even though he hasn't played for three years, he's probably still a better goalkeeper than he is a commentator.

You may have hit on something. Mitroglou in goal? Perhaps he is fit enough for that.
