#FFC starting XI v Motherwell: Bettinelli; Voser, Burgess, Hutchinson, Stafylidis; Christensen, David, Parker, Roberts; Dembélé, McCormack
Our new mans playing. Good stuff.
Nice to see our new signing have a run out. Please God no injury. With Dembele the birthday boy by his side.
McCormack & Dembele will cause Motherwell problems. Felix seems to like Dembele
Plus there is pace around them. Interesting to see what happens.
These kind of lineups are so much more exciting than our pre-season friendlies of last year.
That team looks very decent indeed.... What an exciting lineup .....wow wish I was there to watch this game
Didn't our new owner take over this time last year? Let us hope that things can only get better now he sees the truth of what needs to be done.
4-3-3 perhaps? Parker sitting, David and LVC slightly forward, then McCormack and Roberts flanking Dembele? Magath seems to be trying a few different formations pre season.
I reckon it'll be something like:
Bettinelli
Voser Hutchinson Burgess Stafylidis
Christensen Parker David
Roberts Dembele McCormack

Roberts Dembele McCormack
think it will be a flatter 4 across the middle.
Didn't know Mccormack used to play for Motherwell.

Agree. Roberts on the right, David on the left.
This team looks very exciting at probably not too far off our current first XI
I think they will play Roberts in a free role behind the front two similarr to the role he had in the U18's coming in from the right
Fulham goal 19'

Just out of curiosity, and maybe it has been brought up before, but any news on why Stockdale has not been playing?
not since the halcyon days of Symons and Melville did our CB's score a bucket load in a season
I think Symons got 11 ish one year
Bearing in mind Burgess is a good 7'9, he should be scoring a lot more headers in the future

Probably just giving the other keepers a run out.
Motherwell's twitter feed seems to have more updates on it, in case anyones interested
' Fulham are impressing here. David, Christensen, Voser and Dembélé have all tested the Motherwell goal. 0-1. #FFC

We signed Eddie Izzard?
Hyndman and Hoogland have replaced Parker and Christensen in the middle of midfield. Rodallega is on for Dembélé.
With Scott Parker off, Ross McCormack takes the Captain's armband.
Not surprised at that as he was Leeds' captain.
Fulham goal 53'
Hyndman finds Stafylidis with the left-back's strike from distance spilled by the keeper The ball trickles over the line.

Probably one of the best transfers we will do all year. 20 Y/O, fast, strong, and confident. Fantastic young talent.
Didn't take him long to beat Riise's goalscoring record for us then

So pleased for Hyndman, with all the focus on Dembele and Roberts he slipped under the radar, for me he was the best player in the U18's last year and when he didn't play we were only half the team we were with him. Technique, maturity with great vision and never wastes a ball
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/12/vaja3ype.jpg)
Re Hyndman, I'd like us to get back a bit of American spirit in the side too.
A touch of German efficiency wouldn't go amiss either

Well, we DO have a flag
U18s win 4-1, U21's currently 3-0 up and the first team 2-0 up. We're THIS close to a pre-season clean sweep.
Is that full time??? Great result if so.... Exciting team with potential everywhere across the pitch.
Never been so happy with a Fulham lineup as I was today... I know it is a friendly, but it is really exciting
Yeah. 0-2 full time. Dominant performance from Fulham. From what I can see on twitter etc... haha

Quite right, I was speaking to the academy chaps nearly 2 years ago and they told me then that They expected Hyndman to in time make it, he's not your typical all action American , he's a very intelligent player, technically very good and intelligent enough to know not to go flying into tackles, he breaks up play a lot by reading the opposition passes and intercepting them rather than getting stuck in
Wow, any of the 16 players that played could have been in the starting 11. Motherwell were playing 7 of the players that won 1-0 at Aberdeen their last game of the season. Looks like we outplayed the team that came 2nd last year and could have won even more comfortably. No Woodrow, Amorbieta, Taggart add Dejegah to the forwards that played we are overflowing with forward options. What a difference from the end of last season.
Impressive performance...... Motherwell are no mugs.
Onward and upward

I feared for him 2 years ago because he was so small but has obviously been working on strengthening work. His running is deceptive, he lopes along but he never stops. If you watch his running off the ball you can see his intelligence. As you point out his reading of the game more than makes up for the lack of explosive pace. techniquely one of the most gifted at the club.
My one worry is that the Cup final performances would have alerted a lot of premier clubs about his talent. I hope we bounce straight back up so we can keep hold of our talented youngsters a little longer.

I quite liked this bit:
"It was good to have Ross McCormack involved, he only joined us a few days ago but you can see that he is a very good footballer," added Magath. "He needs to get back to full fitness, and I'm confident he will go on and become an important player for us."
Sounds like Ross is in for a week of pain!
Great to see that Hyndman's involved and that he seems to have gown a bit.
I'd have thought that this season might have been too soon for him, but it's excellent that he is being looked at as a possible alternative or back up to David.
I've mentioned a couple of times that he has been about the best in the club at visualizing and executing a telling pass. This is obviously greatly to his credit, but also a savage indictment of the Club's inability to replace Murphy.

Another big fan of Hyndman here, he often goes under the radar but he seems to have all the tools to be capable of developing into an excellent Murphy type midfielder.
who was our number 3? just been on a motherwell forum and one person said our number 3 was the best fullback he has seen in years. he said no one could get round him

Stafylidis, the best transfer I think we will do all season if he can keep living up to his record. Only 20 Y/O and a beast of a player. If we get promoted we have the option to keep him on as a permanent transfer. Would be immense.

Ha Ha! A full-back who can actually defend....and he goes and gets a goal.
Oh, the ironing, as Bart Simpson would say.
Stafylidis & Hutchinson seem great signings.
Good to see Roberts get a start with David. Are Hyndman or Christensen ready to come through or do we still need 2 midfielders?

I'd say, from what I have read, that they seem ready to come through. Christensen seems to be preferred but Hyndman is standing his own as well. I don't know if we could play them both at the same time, however. Maybe we start one of them and the other is a sub for whoever started the game, leaving another more experienced signing to be partner?
Stafyldis excites me, hopefully better [and classier] than Risse, while hutchinson excites me, seems to be very dependable
AT LAST A REAL QUAILTY LB!!!!!!! :Happy New Year 2:
As a Motherwell fan, and a long standing Fulham fan, yesterday was a terrific day for me. There was a lot to be positive about. I dragged my mates along to the game to see this impressive academy that I keep banging on about. I was not disappointed.
Emerson Hyndman was the one that stood from the lot, I must say, and my friends all agreed. Composed on the ball, awesome distribution and very inventive. Really excited to see him progress. A little underwhelmed by Roberts. He showed flashes but not a great deal else. Rodallega looked lively although also at his clumsy best as well. Hutchie was solid and it was so great to see him get a standing ovation. Let that be a testement to his time here in Motherwell and how much of a great servant he will be for Fulham. Really big hopes for him and the rest of the emerging back line. Burgess was impressive as well.
Overall a great day for me and a good turnout from the Fulham fans. 269!! My mates were guessing 50!!
Hope we play this team at crawley.
and in Jacksonville, also they don't treat it as a training session/kick about and play 22 players

Longer highlights (7.30 mins) now up...
Thanks for that. Livelier than last year's pre-seasons anyway. There seemed to be movement off the ball, that kind of thing!
From what the extended highlights show - which is someone lacking, partly due to the AWFUL camerawork: Voser looked good going forward, but got caught out defensively; McCorkmack knows where the goal is and should bag quite a few (which one could've guessed just looking at his scoring stats); David looks like a good playmaker but needs to learn to put his laces through it when striking from outside the area; we are still prone to defensive errors and need to rectify this (perhaps why Felix seems to be hunting another CB); Roberts looked promising but seemingly disappeared for large chunks of the game; we could've scored more, but were maybe lucky not to concede either.
Anyway, these are just observations from someone who didn't make the trip North of the boarder, based on a 7 minute clip.
What does everyone else think?

At 3:40 Hutchinson throws himself in front of a shot, something which I think we were desperately missing last year from everyone besides Parker. Hopefully we'll concede less of those goals where we half close-down shots that take deflections. Finally some commitment in the side. Looks good.

You're actually dead right, that would have been a goal last year.
just watched the highlights from the FC website. So many new faces for me. Need to figure out who is who. They looked good though. Lots of great movement, very exciting to watch. Motherwell seemed lucky that the score was not higher. Hope this is the beginning of something great.

Just got around to watching that as well. Noticeable positive contributions from (in no particular order) Hutchinson, Stafylidis, David, Parker, Voser, McCormack, Rodallega.
