Title: Eloc's Wayyyy too early free transfer XI
Post by: eloc on September 03, 2014, 08:10:36 PM
Nothing like a little wishful thinking. Here's a starting XI that I could see the club getting if all the players listed refuse new contracts, and the club get promoted!

1.gk Neto (25 yrs old, at fiorentina)
2.rb abate (27 yrs old, at AC milan)
3. cb fabian schar (22, will be 23 by january at fc basel)
4. cb rolando (29 at Porto)
5. lb Ivan strinic ( 27 at Dnipro)
6. cm/cdm rasmus elm (26 at CSKA moscow)
7. cm/cdm Stefan Reinartz(25 at Bayer Leverkusen
8.cam sergi roberto (22, wont be 23 until feb 7th, at FC Barcelona)
9.cam Yoann Gourcuff (28 at Olympique Lyon)
10.striker Artem Dzyuba (26 at Spartak Moscow)
11. striker Andre pierre-gignac ( 28 at Marsielle)/ Luiz Adriano (27 at Shaktar Donestk)

I realize there is a slim to 0 chance of any of this happening, but if i had to pick one player to get, it would be Sergi roberto. the kid is at FCB, he's got very good ball distribution, although he is lacking in defense. pairing him with hyndman would create a central midfield that would spray balls around the park slicing defenses into pieces.

I think that a key factor in the team being able to bring in these players is the strength of the pound versus the euro.
