Title: What's happening to all the players who're out of contract?
Post by: Tktd on June 30, 2010, 10:45:06 AM

Isn't simon Davies and a few others out of contract this summer? Or is it in January? Does anyone know what's happening to them?

Perhaps they are waiting for our new manager to decide who he wants.

Don't know the specific answer to the question but I don't think any player's contract expires in a January.  They are always contracted until the end of a season (30th June, I think).  That's why you hear of players signing a "5-year deal" in the summer and a "4-and-a-half-year deal" in the January window.

OK, the manager has a huge influence on the players, after all, he decides if they play or not. However, negotiations are more about money (which most players care about) and that will be the chief executive. I suspect there will not be much change, probably short term contracts so the new man can decide next year.
