FINALLY!!!! COYW!! Onwards and upwards! Well done Kit!! :D
LOL,just Fulhamish that this is announced a day after we lose 2-5 at home :005:
#getin we are going up say we are going up
Thank you Fulham FC! Now let's get on with rebuilding this club. The results have started to turn. Time to add fuel to that fire by adding more quality to the roster in January and come the summer.
Hopefully, Kit will have money to spend and will be allowed to choose his own players.
Finally! Good decision from Khan and the panel. Now the question is, who will he bring in as his backroom staff?
Very good !
Many congratulations to Kit Symons. The best of luck to him, he'll need it!
Two things occur to my irreverent mind.
1. Nothing like a nice home thrashing to concentrate the minds of the powerful. Perhaps not to be repeated, though.
2. After six weeks of intensive effort five top-level people couldn't persuade anyone else to take the job. [Only kidding. Honest.]
Best person for the job. Lets get our season finally going now and making progress up the table. COYW! 049:gif
Wohoo well done Kit! Thoroughly deserved!
About time - congrats to KS
Congratulations Kit
Let's all get behind him and the team. Rain or shine
COYW
Now the,Let us ALL get behind Kit and the boys and let's see where we can get our beloved club!
COME ON YOU WHITES! 049:gif 049:gif 049:gif
Finally! Great Job Kit!
Well done kit, fully deserved. The only way is up now!
Get in there!
Brilliant ! Now keep up the great work Kit . Lets strengthen if we can after christmas and get back on track for the premiership in the not too distant future.
Come on you lilly whites !

Kit finally reproduced a result like the ones khan has become accustomed to during his reign
Many congratulations to Kit, definitely the right man for the job. The potential for Kit and his team is huge- exciting times ahead...
A good choice. On the right road. Here we go.
Great news -well done Kit.

Very happy here.
the only sensible choice.... long live the king!
Well done Kit... Beat off some fairly substantial competition. The gang of five must have considered their superior experiance, but a good run results is very hard to beat.
Looks like he may of " negotiated out" the DOF ... We will wait and see.
All the very best Kit.
Excellent news coyw
Got the length of contract right very pleased by this. Really hope there isn't a dip in results now it's confirmed.
Also, this is CONCRETE PROOF that Khan has no time for the Carling Cup
Congratulations Kit
Great News.
Wipe away the last 3 years (what 3 years) ?
the best thing about this decision is that it shows that our owner isn't falling into the trap of other new moneyed owners of smallish clubs -- going for a "name from the continent."
The SECOND best thing is that there won't be anymore Steve Bruce threads for a while.

Kit's a motivational manager..... that's why i'm so happy. He's a winning manager as well, so far, and he's instilled a great team spirit, not seen since our european heroes. On top of that he's a Fulham man. There was no other credible option.
Well done Kit, do us proud m8.
Great news. I think he will do very well but even if he doesn't, we couldn't of asked more from the board and at this moment in time, it was 100% the correct decision to make.
Congratulations to Kit and good luck!
I think it's the wrong decision but I really hope it's the right one. Good luck Kit!
Excellent news. Good decision.
Great and we can move forward now with vast majority of club and fans United
I hope everyone is right and we progress. My concern with Kit and I sit behind the dugout is when things are going well he looks the part however like the 2nd halves against Charlton and Derby when it's going wrong he appears not to know what to do or how to change things. Last night I thought he could have changed it around much earlier before we conceded so many ....what a chance we had to make it to the last 8.
To celebrate, can we have the clock adjusted, please ?
Excellent news. Now the really hard work starts, keeping the impetus he has created since taking the job on as caretaker.
I think we can all stand a few trips on the way to some stability in our footballing life, and yesterday was such an occasion (though as it was the cup it was definitely of less importance to us in the big picture), lets just hope that we don't see too many more, and can sustain this season for upper-mid table finish at least, and then push for promotion perhaps next season which would mean Kit renewing his contract as Prem manager,.

I think we should all celebrate by putting a fiver each into the running of FoF (then again, I might be a little biased about that :022: )
"Kit has thoroughly earned the opportunity to take Fulham from here as our First Team Manager. We've been a different football club, on and off the pitch, since Kit stepped in as our Caretaker Manager in September. His passion for Fulham is evident and contagious, and I believe the promise ahead of him is extremely bright."
Those are the bits I like, not to mention his success with the under-18s and under-21s. He is a coach who is used to winning matches.
Great news. Well done Kit. I was beginning to wonder what more a new British coach could do to get their chance. Basically, he has made it very difficult for the panel to appoint anyone else. Well done boyo.
Someone on TIFF reckons that Huw Jennings is being appointed Director of Football with someone new coming in to head up the Academy. That could be a master-stroke, if Jennings can help persuade some real talent to join the Club. Him and Kit must know each other well, so it would make sense.
Oh, and if we lose to Wigan, please no 'Kit Out' threads fp.gif.

Kit is the anti-Magath. I could never warm to Felix. I know that when he arrived a lot of people liked his frank and honest interviews, but I never liked him. Kit right from the word go had that likability factor. I know that doesnt necessarily mean he'll be a good manager (Rene had it too), but im just glad we have someone we can really get behind in charge!
Good new, Come On Kit!
HAZZAH!
Great choice Shahid, now, get us back in black and white and the world will be perfect again ;)
Perfect Fit is Kit.

Top news. First and foremost I hope he has a huge box of plasters to get the old girl back on track and we lay off him when we hit the occasional bump in the road. I have got used to roaring at him as he walks past P2 after a game and he politely nods. I might blow him a kiss next week. Christmas bottle of Spitfire is open.

I was hoping for the return of Jol. He could have brought back Zamora and AJ and we would have been one big happy family.

You bloody Welsh, all stick together! Did I ever tell you I was educated at a certain University in Aberystwyth? More pubs than churches, and I visited them all. I may be English, but I have a soft spot for the Welsh and the fact that Kit was born in Basingstoke, about 5 miles from where I now sip my G&T, makes him the perfect pick for me. It's almost a man-crush. 049:gif
I was beginning to think we might have a riot on our hands, Well done Kit.
I didn't know you lived in Basingstoke. Bloody hell, I had an image of you sipping wurzel juice in Devizes or Chipping Norton - not Basingstoke.
Any road, I've been pushing Huw for a while now - to my knowledge the first to do so. He has a very Cymraeg name but I have no idea if he is truly Taff. Kit? Never met a Welshie called Kit. Why can't he be called Dai like everybody else? Or Symons the boot?

thank god, finally. the perfect appointment.
I will sleep better every night knowing Kit will rebuild our club. Kit is a respected football man. He will regain for Fulham the worldwide respect this venerable club deserves.
So I have had a pretty bad day, woke up to find Fulham had crashed out the cup, then missed my flight connection back from China, but then I come on Friendsoffulham quickly and all my problems are gone. Should have been announced sooner, but credit to the club for appointing the right man. Also made be a very tidy amount of money in doing so..... Little bonus
Good luck Kit we are all behind you
We need to continue to give him time and to make sure we have patience. This club has been badly let down by the people in charge. It will take time to repair. But at last we have a manager who looks to have found a way to make the players he has play to their potential.
This is still a poor squad and a young core of players. But we now have the man full time who can serve the team well. Good luck.
very happy about this news, should of been after charlton game or rotherham if you ask me,
good luck kit lets go get them results now.
Congrats to Kit.
Seems to have brought some stability back to the club
After reading Kits interview in the Standard, he was sure to field a weakened eleven last night.
For most of the first half though, there definitely seemed to be a bit of the old feel good factor back amongst fans.
Well done kit. Let's take three from Wigan and get on a roll.

A friend wanted a ready-trained dog to help manage his animals that he grazes on Dartmoor and ended up buying one from Wales. The trouble was that when he went to to collect him he found that the dog only understood commands in Welsh so my friend had to learn them. One day the dog got lost and my friend (a big man-mountain with long unkempt hair) was walking over the moor at dusk calling his name "Dai, Dai, Dai".
And this is the area that inspired Hound of the Baskervilles.
True story.
Now, I've never thought of Basingstoke as romantic... William is no more a Welsh name than it is English, it obviously came over with The Bastard.
Yes I was a 'B', that's how i become adopted into the Morgan clan. In those days women didn't keep illigimate children themselves, sad but true. I was actually borne in a mother and baby home in Poole.
Those days were different, I think that concept has gone right of the window now.
I was thinking of the origin of the name William which came over with William the Bastard, so was never a native English name just as it isn't Welsh either.

One side of my Welsh family were Morgans. My uncle was William Morgan Evans. Lovely name. Lovely man he was.
All my Welsh uncles and aunts had English first names - as did my father, John Edward. That's what had to be done back at the turn of the last century. Nowadays it's very different with Aled and Iolo and Iestyn, etc.

Edward's an English name but not John.
I once had a German teacher who asked me if I could roll my R's. I thought "not like you do, miss"!
My Grandad's name was Edward, but his surname was Newman, which I believe a many generations ago could have been a German name.
