Guys I'm looking to book a hotel for coming over to see the whites in January. I haven't been over in years and I'm looking help and advice from anyone who would know.
Is there any good hotels near the cottage that are affordable and good finds that anyone would recommend, is it generally a good idea to get hotel near the ground? Is there much of a nightlife after the games in nearby bar?
Anyone out there able to help? Trying to get it booked soon
When I travelled, the Norwegian fanclub was staying at premier inn puttney bridge, about 10 min walk from Craven, its not to expensive and has a nice bar and good breakfast :)
Premiere inn Putney Bridge -£79 pay in advance Saturday January 17th at Home to Reading
$79 January 24th at home to Forrest

Clean and a nice walk to the Ground through Bishops park ( 15 minutes)
Probably be some away fans for Forrest.
I've always stayed at the Putney Bridge Premier Inn when visiting for matches at the Cottage. Never had an issue with the place. Fair price and decent hotel. Short walk to the ground.
Just stay clear of the nearby Eight Bells pub prior to the game. It's the away supporters' pub.
Yeah we r considering that one. Or else one in Hammersmith and travelling via tube. What about local bars before and after games for fans. Anything good?
Well what about bars nearby. Any good home supporter ones for before and after matches? Any do decent breakfast
Golden Lion nearby, home pub, does a good breakfast
Golden lion sounds good then. Ok in there in shirt?
Yeah course, they're home fans only in there, so you'll be more than welcome
Sweet thanks for the help guys!
If you stay in Hammersmith there's no way of getting a tube to anywhere near the ground and
it's a bit of a hike.
Putney is much better and the walk through the snow in Bishops Park will be
nice. Lot's of camaraderie on the walk as well.
And the Golden Lion is near the hotel in Putney as well.
The Crabtree is half way between Hammersmith and the ground

Nooooooooooooo unless you like the smell of Human excesses go to the Crabtree
Ah but the price of chips have doubled at the Crabtree this season, now £4 instead of £2. Under new management I believe. :016:
Mrs B, surprised you haven't mentioned the Durell Arms! Wolfie, that's a good place to meet and eat.
Dunno if the GL is the same as it was some years back, if so then give that a wide berth.
We tend to stay some distance away and tube it to Putney Bridge for the games.
Holiday inn express at Hammersmith is OK. Functional. Cheap beer and food. As said it's a longish hike to the ground but if you're staying a few days it's not a bad base
I have stayed at star hotel b&b in hammersmith at 58gbp per night it is a very good price and it is rated 121 out of 1066 hotels on tripadvisor.
You have me all wondering what's the best pub now instead of hotels. So me and the Mrs would want to go for drinks before the game and also after somewhere that doesn't have issues with footie tops. As over here it's a big issue the footie tops. Where do all the home fans usually go
I normally stay at La Reserve on Fulham Broadway, decent enough hotel and good pubs on the Broadway. Before the match as you are with the wife the Crabtree would be a better pub for you.
Go to the Bricklayer's Arms!
A short walk over Putney Bridge but one of the best pubs in London.
Wolfie regarding entertainment food and decent beer the Half moon in Putney is pretty good. They have live bands on in the evening but will require a ticket in advance to ensure you get in .Afterwards they have a dj with music until 1 oclock.you dont need a ticket for this but if it takes your fancy get in there before 11 oclock.Food is good too.The only drawback is its not cheap pint of beer and a glass of wine for the missus will set you back around 10 pounds.Have a great stay.

Although it's a bloody great pub 100% of the rest of the time.
I'd recommend the Bricklayer's Arms on Waterman Street just over Putney Bridge. Loads of real ales and a ton of Fulham supporters to chat to.
Depends what you're in to, to be fair the Lion is always packed on a matchday so good to soak up pre match atmosphere, Durrell Arms is a good pub, reasonably priced beer (For Fulham) less busy but a bit further away, get the odd away fan in there but usually the friendly ones, shirts welcome, Larrik Inn and Eight bells usually all away fans, Never been to The crabtree but heard it is good, you also have the Fox & Hounds, and The Railway, by Putney Mainline Rail station, usually mixed fans, occasionally trouble in the Railway but very rare, depends who's visiting! There's also the Rocket, on the Putney side of Putney bridge, not really a football pub but the food is good, they do a cracking breakfast but would suggest for the morning, as it's pretty quiet.
you could try the Moran Hotel in Chiswick High Road, they do a mean breakfast - then jump on the bus too Fulham Palace Road......good night out is Chiswick
The Bricklayers Arms for beer, football shirts welcome, great selection of ales, no food though
