Post by: simplyfulham on July 01, 2010, 11:32:40 AM
Dear Al Fayed,

Here is a list of acceptable candidates for the current vacant managerial position at your football club:
Jurgen Klinsman
Slaven Bilic
Marcello Lippi
John Collins
Fabio Capello
Guus Hiddink
Marcelo Bielsa

That is all.

You've met and interviewed all of these?

And all of them are completely unrealistic, and bar Collins, would not come to a small club like Fulham. Why not include Mark Hughes?

Yes completely unrealistic, but most appointments would be a step down from Hodgson.

I think we're in the same position as a WAG being dumped.. It's going to be hard to go back to the ordinary life after experiencing such quality in the manner of the football and the man in charge.

This is purely a list of managers who would be able to step in and wouldn't feel like a step down.

Mark Hughes isn't bad.. but he's not really great either. Didn't have Blackburn set up to play a particularly intelligent pattern of football. And with unlimited resources and an already superb squad, didn't ever get Man City working at all, there was no cohesion or even any sign of football style. I'd rather avoid him, although he's still preferable to the Curbishley's and Sven's of this world..
