Title: Why is McCormack not playing for Scotland?
Post by: Huxley on November 18, 2014, 09:31:55 PM
Watching the Scotland v England game, and IMO what Scotland need right now (65 min) is a player like McCormack.... Am I blind with love for McCormack or he is nit good enough at international level.

He looks great deal more cultured to me than any of the Scots forwards on view tonight.

Didn't he have an argument with Strachen

At least we didn't have to worry about him getting injured.

Cant understand why Ross or Rhodes not up front for the Scots.
Must be some bad defences in the Championship where Derbys Chris Martin scores
lots, he looked liked a donkey out there tonight.
To be fair to them though I think half of them havnt recovered from the game against
Ireland where they kicked the hell out of one another...

Odd one as he's probably the most creative Scottish player bar Naismith. They seem to be doing well enough without him qualifying wise however. He's their Chris David :54:

I would agree with that, but for 2 important differences

1. Ross works harder and tracks back, and is more unselfish.

2. There isn't a better player in the scotland team in front of Ross, there is in front of David at Fulham.

The absence of him and Rhodes is confusing.

Strachan must not be too enamored with either, can't think it is to do with footballing reasons though, in my opinion, they are both far better than C.Martin/S.May.

He possibly isn't good enough for international football but on that showing he is certainly good enough for Scotland.

I did make a similar posting along those lines.  McCormack is far better than the likes of Chris Martin, a clumsy dolt, but our league position keeps McCormack out of the limelight.

Can't answer that, but three facts that probably have no bearing but are nevertheless facts are as follows:-
- Strachan played more matches for Leeds than any other
- He has picked Ross before.
- But not since he fell out with Leeds

Most of the Scots players would struggle in our Conference.

What utter nonsense, that same side were unlucky to lose to Germany.
