By mutual consent. Finally!
Sensible decision.
3 more to go now............. and who would you guess they are???
I also don't want to make fun of this decision because unfortunately I think it's best for everyone. So thank you to Mark for his efforts in the few games he played. He wasn't the best but he was never unprofessional and it wasn't his fault he wasn't quite good enough. It was the club's decision to sign him.
Good luck in the future

Probably for the best
Does that mean we need someone to be Billy now!
Wasn't his fault that he ended up at Fulham, it was the Club and Magath's decision to hire the journeyman, which was very bad business. I said all along that he, along with players like Kilraly, should have never been allowed anywhere near FFC. However, Fotheringham never caused a fuss, never complain, never hit out and done a job when asked. I wish him all the best wherever he ends up.
Just not good enough for the Championship or Fulham. Good luck to him though seems a decent pro
I hope he is successful in finding another club.
So another little saga is concluded.
Personally I found much of the reaction to this player surprising, distasteful and rather pathetic. A timeworn and unspectacular journeyman, an odd signing by the oddest of managers, Fotheringham made a couple of partial appearances in the league (both lost) and a few minutes of the LCup win at Brentford. He wasn't much cop in either league appearance, but, at a time when most of our players were pretty clueless, he wasn't outstandingly awful. And yet some reacted to him as if he was an evil bubonic plague carrier, whose very presence in the club was corrupting its lifeblood and inhibiting any possible progress.
Well, OK. We are all entitled to our opinion and mine (that he was an ordinary player, doing the best he could which was not really good enough for what we wanted) won't weigh very heavily in the balance of opinion.
One thought, though. for those baying for some signing because the window is open. This is just the sort of player that is most readily available at this time.
Good luck to him-he always did a professional job in a poorly performing team when called upon.
Glad to see him go, but good luck to him in the further, he was professional while he was here. After all it was not his decision to sign him in the first place.

Correct.........If some had their way he would have been tarred n feathered
as well...Utter nonsense been spoken about him, good luck Mark.
Thanks to him for representing Fulham when asked and behaving professionally. Hopefully he finds a place to play regularly.
Happy to free up the wages.
Can Fazlic be far behind? Has he ever stepped on the field with the 1st team?
Guess he'll end up at Rangers if Magath takes over?
Awful awful player, should never of signed.
Terrible signing but as people have said, not his fault. Just never cut out for this league at this time in his career

Why shouldnt he have signed, wouldnt you if you were a pro player
and Fulham came along and offered you whatever he was on a week to sign.
Its his job, family to keep, mortgage to pay and so on.
Of Course you would jump at the chance...

Harsh
To be fair to him, he never did anything against the club, seemed a decent fella but was not good enough for this level or to move us forward. Odd signing at best But of course all the best.
Not his fault that we signed him. Only one person to blame - that idiot Magoo

Just seen that Fotheringham has done himself no favours recently, by coming across a bit bitter on Twitter. He also called Magath a 'World Class' manager and the ex Celtic coach a legend??!!
It was a poor signing but even Roy signed a few stinkers in his time.
Good luck to him.

& they could have had me - for a 1/4 of Mark's wages
64, a brilliant left foot (even if I say it myself), true I am a little slower than I used to be
I started out left wing, then left midfield, then left back (normally @ the clubhouse after the other players had left - whadya mean we had an away match?)
Finally, given my remarkable "look a likie" to one Malcolm Webster I ended a not so glorious career playing in goal, where I performed brilliantly (in my opinion) only to be let down by the useless defence in front of me
Now where have I heard that before......?
Still, enough about me
No one can blame Mark for taking he opportunity to join us
Another result (& outcome) of the idiot Eric who was in charge of us @ the time, & those who were responsible for appointing him
Another chapter closed on a dreadful recent past & hopefully a positive move forwards
Good luck to you Mark
he was not good enough for Fulham but he is not as bad as what some of you are saying. he was doomed from the start it seemed.

While I do see your point, and the vast majority of the blame must be put on Magath. Mark must be aware of his own ability, or lack of it. He knew he couldn't help fulham and that every time he played he would be shockingly out of his depth, but was still happy to pick up a pay cheque from us every week. Would I be happy doing this? Not one bit. So no, I would not jump at the chance. He is vastly better suited to a drastically lower level of football and I hope he can find a club, because, as so many of you have said this is his job. Amazingly.
Good luck mark you were not the worst player we have seen down here and in the dark old days we may have been glad to have you. But not at this time. I hope you get another club at a decent level and I look forward to the time when you can come back with another club and prove us all wrong

Oh I don't know. It could certainly be argued that Felix is in a class of his own!
Sorry but his stupid remarks takes any sympathy anybody can have with him. He says he is glad he left as given no game time and an honour to play for a World Class Manager in Felix.
Had he just said sorry it didn't work out then that would be fine.
It was an insult to Fulham that an insult for a manager should have signed him in the first place. An embarrassment that said much for what that manager did to us.

I should think there is more crap written on Tweetie Pie or whatever its called
than in certain tabloids, so I wouldnt take it serious what he is supposed to have said.
Apparently thousands read everyday what Stephen Fry has for his Breakfast, talk about
get a life..
Give the bloke a break -he's just been sacked!
I thought he did all right when he played.
Not the worst player who ever played for us, but relative to the championship and what we required he's up there for me as pound for pound the most uninspiring signing ever.

Harsh
Harsh maybe but more a dig at the mad German that signed him than the lad himself , good luck to him hope he finds a club at his level. 075.gif 049:gif
A player brought to us by a mad man. Fotheringham came to us with a reputation of being classless both on and off the pitch. He did nothing to dispel either of those preconceptions.
Maybe I dislike Mark more because of what he represents rather than what he's done for us ["what he's done" being very little, in truth]. Nonetheless, I'm really pleased he's gone.
His comments after being released demonstrate a possible reason why Kit wanted to remove his negative presence from the dressing room before the end of his contract...
Also, he was never going to get a game (Mark simply isn't good enough). Whilst I don't blame Fozzy for taking the wages, I'm glad he's not going to burden our club financially any more...
In my opinion the worst signing - or at least most baffling - we've made since I've been a fan.
Have to chuckle at the hypocrisy of fans slagging off Fotheringham from the minute he joined the club only to then lose it at him saying he was delighted to leave (and then stating a perfectly good reason why).
The outrage at Fotheringham's presence is a symptom of modern football fandom. In reality he was a backup player who featured in two games for us and one who won't be remembered in a couple of years time.
The fulhamfc experience must have been dreadful for him. Slagged off from day one, and celebrated when he left.
If you look at his transfer roundabout history it was a bizarre signing that unsurprisingly didn't work. More a failing of magath than Fotheringham. Who can blame him for wanting to play for us.
The vitriole on here towards him is uncalled for. Cheap tacky and nasty.
I wish him well, whatever he does next

On the other hand, you wouldn't expect him to heap abuse on Magath now he has been released, after all, Magath hired him once, and we were daft enough to employ Magath in the first place.......so if another big-name European club is dumb enough to hire that dreadful manager, perhaps Fotheringham's phone would ring again....?

There is a subtle difference between burning bridges and calling a bridge that is falling into disrepair 'A world class bridge'. Although calling Magath a pontifex is close to what we want to call him.
Good news for both player and club surely.

I have to say that after looking at his CV, if I had been a manager looking for a squad player at the time I would have wondered why he has never really had a long contract with any club which has worked out well. Alarm bells would have been ringing long before I got a contract and pen out.
but hey ho, what did you expect with short-sighted old Mr. Magoo?
I've been on Facebook, and seen his page, and there is no indication of those comments. Can some one link the actual post, not an image?
