Well, Fulham wasn't one of them, and neither were West Ham, but QPR was I believe (go figure...).

Actually the more I think about it, there is probably no more than about 5 or 6 teams starting the Prem in August from the original 22. My guess would be Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Spuds, Blackburn and Liverpool. I may have missed one or two, but there can't be many more, which just goes to show you how fast the wheels can come off the cart if we are not careful...

COYW!!! :045:

Actually Mr F, there were around 8 or 9 of the current incumbents I believe ('big 4', plus Spuds, Villa, Toffees and Rovers) in there, and throw in the likes of Palace and Wimbledon into the fray.  and, I believe one of the Sheffields were present.

Luton were CHARTER members of the prem, but were relegated the last season of the old 1st and didn't ever play in it. I think County or Oxford was also in that category.

Just checked the Football Statistics archive and discovered that it WAS Notts County that were the fellow "charter members" who never actually played in the Prem [along with Luton}.
