Title: Hungary v Greece
Post by: cmg on March 29, 2015, 07:52:24 PM
No Mitroglou for Greece, but Staf starts. And Kiraly gets his 93rd cap for Hungary. And Gera's there, too.

0-0

Undistinguished sort of game. Greece had most of the play but lacked a cutting edge (Heard that one before somewhere).

Staf played more as a winger than a full-back (that'd be a wing-back, I guess) but did also do some defensive bits and pieces. He had an impressive game all told.

Kiraly was calm and confident throughout. No spectacular shot stopping: none required. But he did all those positioning, box controlling things, that we often find wanting in our younger keepers.

I think he is a coach for the national team so am assuming he was on the bench somewhere.

We should get him back to control our midfield

Karagounis is an assistant to the Greek NT. Should have been in your midfield imo this season, would have offered a lot of stability.

cmg summed up the game well Staf was good truth be told. Pro active little chap.

Greece played a striker who has played 11 times for Greece, 0 goals, 0 assists. But he plays for PAOK so he will be played until he scores... very political...

Listened to half of that game on XM Radio and thought Staf played quite well.  But, again, could only see through the words of the announcer.
