Title: One less club to worry about in the Championship next season ?
Post by: Roberty on May 28, 2015, 05:42:43 AM
We seem to have missed out AGAIN because according to the "Derby Evening Telegraph" Derby County want to sign Aston Villa striker Darren Bent 31 on permanent deal following his loan spell with the Rams

STRIKER Darren Bent is expected to be Derby County's first signing ahead of next season. Derby's recruitment department has been busy compiling a list of targets for the 2015-16 campaign, although the final say on which players are signed will rest with the new head coach, who could be appointed early next week.

Real Madrid assistant coach Paul Clement is firm favourite to fill the role as successor to Steve McClaren, who was sacked on Monday.

He enjoyed his spell at Derby and after the final game against Reading, he said: "I want to say a big thanks to Derby County and all the fans for their support this season. I loved every minute." Derby are confident they can land the 31-year-old former England international, who is out of contract at Villa this summer.

Just shows how far behind the recruitment pack we are - the club need to get a move on or all of the "worst signing of the season candidates" will have gone  :005:
