We know, at least, the calibre of manager we want.

My guess is that the club prepared a list of possible names and put out feelers to see whether they might be interested. We don't know who else was on that list but we're presumably about to find out.

Anyone that wants the job isn't going to care that they weren't first choice. The salary and transfer budget will be the issue and that has more or less been made public now.

The last thing we should be doing is lowering our standards by bringing in someone we don't really rate, on mega bucks with a big wadge of transfer money. Better keep Lew in place pending an appointment.

In the meantime we should be freezing all outgoing transfers.

All the squad really "needs" is a Nevland replacement.

Fred Scuttlebucket from North End Road market will take over the reins on a part time basis. Lewington will remain in charge at weekends whilst Fred continues manning his fruit & veg stall  :019:

from VEG NEWS (Incorperating Tripe World)

Today Fred Scuttlebucket became the favourite to take over at Fulham football club and Dance Studio. A club statement read out by ten year old Claire (only one left in the office)

'Fred Scuttlebucket knows how to set out his stall. He knows how to keep the rotten apples away from the good ripe ones. He knows what is selling and what isn't it. He also knows how to travel away from home. We wish Fred and the vegetables, sorry I mean the team, the best for the coming season. Press questions will be taken in the greenhouse, thankyou.'
