Title: Betting on Fulham games
Post by: spoken on August 04, 2015, 08:30:09 AM
I have been a "lurker" on this forum for about 5 years. Whilst I appreciate we all have different petspectives and opinions we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that football is a game and is to be enjoyed. Therefore you are all invited to follow me each week as I place a £10 bet on every Fulham match. You can either share in my joy at a win or revel in my despair when I lose.

I can afford to lose £10 a game (just don't tell the wife) and am fully aware of the associated risks of gambling. I will use the bet365 platform. All bets will be placed before kick off (although I prefer in play).

My first bet for the Cardiff game will be both teams to score. Fingers crossed I get off to a winning start!

Odds are 8/11. Not great!

Feel free to post your own bets too.

Maybe try and combine with another bet to get better odds. Cardiff to score first and both teams to score maybe?

As things stand Fulham to concede at anytime has to be the banker bet.

Can't find this bet and won't let you do it as a double. Good idea though, however I'm going to choose bets I think are winnable.

I would wait and see if mitro is playing and if so go for +3.5 goals in the match!!!
If kit goes for 4:3:3 with Ross mitro and smith up front it would be a good bet, expect our defense to leak one or two

He is 13/5 to score anytime. If he is on the bench it might be worth an in play bet as the odds become more appealing. I will keep an eye on the in play!

He has the same odds as Taggert and Woodrow. Matt smith could be worth a punt at 11/4 if he starts.

I had an each way bet for the title and Ross e/w top scorer last season.  Still betting on promotion (11/1) and Ross for this season - don't say it - what a sap!

Bookies REALLY don't fancy us this season..... Not in the top 6 for promotion....
but on the other hand....... Not in the 6 picks for relegation.

Mid table obscurity it is then.

Please explain how it is uninformed? And be careful because people make a living out of it......because they spend all their time ensuring they are informed. I don't intend a living or to even win a lot of money, I might break even?? Who knows? It is a harmless bit of fun because I can afford to lose a tenner a game and I am not or will ever be addicted to gamblimg. Please don't attempt to pour cold water on a bit of fun, a little more positivity is what this board needs instead of all the glass half empty posts.

The snobs against betting always leave their comment condemning betting whenever it's mentioned. There is nothing wrong with it if you bet responsible. Don't gamble more than you can afford and don't chase losses. Simple. A gambler isn't a "mug". As to Hatter Dons comment its easy to inform youreslf on a profesional team looking at past games, stats and team news so I don't know what you mean by "a less informed bet". A less informed bet would be to guess how many more times you're going to slag off people who gamble.

Ok, so I might change my first bet and go with my heart instead of my head......never advised when gambling! I think it's a more fun bet and the odds are generous.

Fulham to win and both teams to score @ 5/1

If I was looking to play safe (not as fun for the purpose of this thread) and generate small cash amounts I would place Asian Handicap bets or better still in play. But that would be boring!!!

Main bet lost but I did also put £20 on both teams to score. However for the purpose of this thread I am £10 down!

Any ideas for a bet for the Wycombe game? I might wait to see our line up.

Wycombe didn't look to bad on yesterday's highlights. I have no idea how that game could go though. Another BTTS perhaps? Our defense looked shaky against Cardiff.

Now you're on my subject. 049:gif

I like nothing better than having a bet, mainly on horses, but also on football, snooker, darts etc, and I've run my own horse racing forum for 17 years.
I've done very well backing Fulham in the past, and I once got odds of 260/1 on Betfair for Fulham to beat Man Ud 3-1 at Old Trafford on a day when we did exactly that.
The last two years have been a bit of a disaster for me as far as betting on Fulham is concerned, as it took quite a while to dawn on me just how poor we had become.

My confidence in Fulham is shot to pieces, even more so on cup games, but for my bet tonight, I'll lay Wycombe for £10 at 3.75 which gives me two chances of getting a profit, but means I will lose £27.50 if Fulham get beat.

If any of you are interested in Horse Racing it would be nice to see you here.

A little heads up if you fancy a risk free bet......

Using bet365. They are offering a risk free in play bet the same value as a pre game bet (up to £50) for the city v chelsea game. I did this last year when they offered the same on champions league games.

Place a pre match bet of £50 over 0.5 goals. A second pre match bet on under 0.5 goals (about £4) to get your stake back no matter what. You then have a risk free in play bet for £50. I won a few hundred a few times doing this last year.

Now onto today's bet...

Fulham win 17/10 - not bad
Fulham over 1.5 goals 13/8 - not sure
Fulham win and over 2.5 match goals - another heart over head bet @ 7/2
Both teams to score in second half 5/2

Fulham win is safest bet I feel. Could Fulham win/draw @ 4/9 but that's pretty boring.

Thoughts?

That changed since I looked earlier then. Still think we're a bit short though. Might be worth waiting for lineups mind.

Only concern is Brighton games tend to be low scoring. Perhaps that's just their home games, but I'd not be too confident of 3+ goals, even with our defence.

Usually I'd go for both teams to score but I like Hull to win and clean sheet in this one. I think Hull are massive contenders for promotion. That said they have conceded in their last two games but they were away and before that the beat Huddersfield 2-0 at home. Plus the fact Fulham are struggling to score. I'm still going with Hull-1 Asian Handicap. If not Hull and clean sheet.

Sticking Fulham in a both teams to score accumulator is always a good shout. Even when we win we concede.

I'm bringing my mate with me to the game Saturday, he came twice last year and McCormack scored a hat-trick in both games so I'm lumping on Ross to score 2+ at 9/1 . Dead cert.
