Who is your favorite random player? Not for any actual reason other than you randomly like them.

See Mark in goal as well.
Martin Pike left back from the early 90's for the younger readers.
meet him a number of times...usually in the riversdie bar and always found him a good lad to speak to.
Playing wise always thought he was underestimated and had a great shot on him.
Jonathan Greening, I thought he was quite underrated - fairly decent on the ball, willing worker - perfect squad player at that time.
I always wanted to see more of Marcel Gecov also, and Bjorn Helge Riise for that matter, Bjorn appeared to have a wonderful cross on him.
I liked rosenior jnr. Yeah I know I spelt it wrong. I always thought he looked composed and tidy. What do I know?
Elliott omniwusi (spelling) neither gigs or Ronaldo got round him once on his debut.
Always had a sweet spot for Bocanegra.
Martin Djetou, Robbie Herrera and Erik Nevland would be my random picks. The others I liked were a lot more obvious

Nevland is one of my favourite ever players. Possibly my actual favourite ever.
I actually liked Frank Large - usually slagged off on here as Allan Clarke's, who went on to star for Double winning Leeds United and England, hopeless replacement.
Well, it was typical Fulham, some would say, selling your star striker and bringing in an inferior player on the cheap. But I liked big Frank - he always gave his all up front.
More modern, the very likeable Moritz Voltz comes to mind, who was, actually, a firm crowd favourite, though maybe not the greatest full back - but he did a decent job.
Thinking of popular right backs at random, what about John Pantsil?
Collins John - there's another random name - I certainly liked him when he first played for the club.
Not necessarily random but...
Paul Brooker
Darren Freeman
Pesci
Mike Pentecost, so there!
Loved Moritz Volz.
Who else would've had this as the theme song on their professional website?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzmH1tOGMVc (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzmH1tOGMVc)
Greening is a great shout. My first game I went to when I first moved over to London, he was the standout player on the park. He barely got a game after that.
I always liked John Pantsil. The guy was the master of the own goal, but I always loved his laps of honour.
I quite liked Salcido too. I don't really know why.
Mladen Petrov + Tomas Radzinksi for randomers
So many, not sure what qualifies a player as random but here are a couple; Bjarne Goldbaek (very skilful and despite being a senior ex Chelsea player he was extremely approachable and wholehearted), Paul Parker (I recall saying on his debut that he had great feet and brilliant timing in the tackle), Alain Goma (so composed) and Peschi but he has already had a mention.
Stan Brown.
092.gif
Richard Money.... For no other reason than we have the same first name!
...and who can forget "show us your willy" Walker. I went to Northampton Town and had to sit amongst the home fans (with friends) and everytime Clive got on the ball he took dogs abuse from the Cobblers fans. Towards the end of his career, but he still had one hell of a kick on him.
COYW
As others have said Moritz Volz comes to mind. My sister actually met him and said he was great. Not sure if this one counts, but I really liked Karagounis for his passion. Always gave his all. Didn't care for his overly dramatic theatrics, but you always knew he would put in a good shift.
papa bouba diop!! what a beast and that goal against man utd, when he ran the whole pitch and danced lol
Chris Baird. I love the classy way he took all the abuse and just soldiered on.
John Panstil for his enthusiasm.
Brian McBride for his courage.
Karagounis. Country mile
Eisfeld.
For RaySmith. Glad you spoke well of Frank. He had no chance replacing Clarke. But he always gave his all. Sadly he passed away aged just 61.

Rory Hamill, scored at Gillingham in the cup and then ended up doing naff all and ended up at glentoran i think
in Northern Ireland. Still loved that goal tho climbed up the fence to throw confetti in the crowd and turned to see my mum and dad going mental! 049:gif
Brian Greenaway played for both of the teams i followed through my teens, Fulham & Wealdstone (not at the same time tho). He was part of the glorious double-winning 'Stones' team of 84/85. If our ground had been better we would have been promoted to division four that year!
Would you believe there's a link to the highlights from back then? Brian is number 7 and took both corners that led to our goals that day.

A bit of Wealstone trivia for you....
Vinnie Jones was at the club then, but so bad he rarely got selected. Stuart Pearce left the club 2 years earlier.
Honourable mention for Morgs.
Matt Lawrence
Alan Neilson - always preferred him partnering Chris Coleman than the other guy

Well you coudlssee him at the Cottage again next Saturday playing for Brighton.
Yes! Some great mentions that past my mind, Erik Nevland and Chris Baird in particular. I wonder what Nevland is up to these days... We could do with him teaching some finishing at Motspur!

Martin Djetou was a class act wasn't he? A terrific defender who could also be more than useful in midfield. An ideal player to have in any squad. Always so disappointed. his time at the Cottage was comparatively short.

I am so pleased somebody else liked Frank. His honest endeavour was always great to watch. Cusack and John Marshal where also favourites along the way. Cusack dislocating his shoulder and just wandering over to the touchline to have it put back. Wonderful utility player. Marshal again for his use around the pitch and long career with little thanks.
Callum Willock for being absolutely deadly on championship manager 01/02. Really liked Eddie Lewis also!
I also can't believe nobody has mentioned Claus Jensen, he was class!

That's because he was random!
There have been a few names on here where I honestly think were fan favorites, but the range and variety is quite good.
Jensen was class, sadly injured most of the time.
Mine is definitely Montella. Most accurate shot I have ever seen from a Fulham player, and one of the classiest I have seen play for us. Doesn't get mentioned much, was oddly sent home early by Sanchez
Pantsil without a doubt. His laps of the pitch were great. Footballers just don't do that these days.
Inamoto, if he wasn't injured in the game vs England, I think he would have been here longer
Sean O'Driscoll and Cliff Carr for me.
Kevin Betsy is another gem
Jimmy Dunne (battling Irishman)
Vic Halom (great character)
Joe Gilroy (typical dour Scot)
Bobby Moss (the smallest player on the field, he headed the injury time winner v Everton)
Stan Brown a good honest professional . 065.gif

Are you from Wealdstone ?
I think I'd go for Chris Baird too. Always thought he was under appreciated because of his willingness to play where he was asked.
(Oh and Ray, I don't recall Leeds ever doing the Double)
Terry Angus, big smile and had some passion when playing. was sitting a few seats up from me at Leyton Orient once, in with us supporters singing and cheering the team on when he was injured or suspended.
Dirk Lehmann, if only for the tash...
MIchael Cole if for no other reason than his goal away at Brentford

I was just about to say, Claus Jensen, because he always looked stoned
Sylvain Legwinski was definitely a favourite & Heidar Helguson was always solid up front with McBride.
Pantsil
Ruiz
Etuhu
Trotta
Viv Busby for his Goal at Home to Cardiff 74/75, and John Mitchell.
Facundo Sava - by a mile!
Mark Fotheringhan anyone?
I'll get my coat.
Inamoto!
Great goal against Man U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgGcHRNbr-c (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgGcHRNbr-c)
Alan Slough
Jimmy Dunne
Roger Cross
Clive Walker
Stefano Okaka, mainly because he couldn't stop scoring on Fifa for me
Terry Parmenter!!!
Lehmann
Horsfield
Paintsil
Terry Phelan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly he was total rubbish while he was ON the pitch;-)
I always liked Fred Callaghan . A real battler and had a great banter with the crowd .

Oh yes, I forgot the Horse
Steve Hayward was one of my particular favourites. Peschisolido aswell, but that's less random
Barry Hayles was unquestionably my favourite player when he played for us
Not sure why (but I guess that's the purpose of the thread) - I always liked John Margerrison, circa 1975
Danny Cullip
Vic Halom
Ian Seymour
Paul Went
Diomansy Kamara because of the Man City game

Nearby.... Harrow
Highs and lows
Kevin Locke decent centre back .
Budgie burn what a disappointment ! how did he ever play for England ?
both came from west ham.
Steve Earle.
Without doubt one of the most underrated Fulham players of yesteryear.
He was a very clever and skillful player whose game was based on late runs into the box.
Around today his game would be ideally suited to, dare I say it, the Premier League.
5 pages and not one mention of Eddie Johnson?

Erik Nevland and this guy...
Then obvious ones ilke Jimmy and Mcbride and Volzy - then pantsil, helguson and Simon Davies. All I felt were really honest and hardworking pros which I admired. Jimmy was just a funny guy, but obviously also had his worth.

10 points to anyone who can get his name without cheating.
Bobby Petta.
Loan signing from Celtic.
Missed a sitter at Anfield one year.

That's the one - I'll take the time difference as the defining moment of how hard it was for people to get.
He may have missed a sitter, but I remember watching him and thinking he was the most naturally talented player we had seen at the time and was vastly underrated. Was a favourite of mine, but didn't get as much game time as I wanted him to - was the first player to showboat at a high standard that I saw in a Fulham shirt and had a very calm demeanour on the pitch... or at least that's what I remember of him.
