Title: ‘Dirty’ Dutch debacle descend to destruction
Post by: Nick Bateman on October 13, 2015, 12:51:50 PM
It seems unthinkable that a major footballing country could possibly be eliminated from the European finals already.

The Dutch must beat already qualified Czech Republic tonight and hope Turkey lose at home to surprise group winners Iceland simultaneously.

One thing is sure; the clog-wearing, windmill-watching, edam-eating, dyke-fingering Netherlands will beat the Czechs; the Bohemians are already on the beach in Marseille losing at home to Turkey in their last match, unless somehow their 'rookie' manager manages to scupper this one.

In their wisdom, Holland are being led by a blind man, that is, former player Danny Blind. In a moderately competitive group Blind must be myopically-challenged to have only gotten the Dutch to fourth place.

So unless Iceland, the Scandinavian shark-eating fishing nation named after the frozen food outlet do them a favour, one could be witnessing a monumental upset in recent world football!

Also, their players just are not the superstars of yesteryear.  No more Vanbastens, Gullit or Berkamp etc. Van Persie was great for a few seasons but thats about it I think.

I suspected they were going out tonight - didn't know the Czechs would take it seriously but seems like they lulled the Dutch in the last game and the coach saying he would rest players in this one.  Czech Republic top the group now.
