Why is it for 35+ is my question. Us young people are fat too
I do not know, I didnt ask when I spoke to them.
Just spoke to Hugh who is running this and have put myself forward.
He's looking for fans to take part. All sounds like fun and hard work, something I need to lose those extra pounds...ok stone.
Drop him a line.
I am in too MJG, hence why I put it on the forum

Yep saw that and led me to speak to him so thanks. Challenge is on ;-)
Can I do it whilst sitting in my cab
I'd love to but I won't be allowed to take part.
Fitbit, schmitbit!
Bugger, I'd love to do this, am over 35, but I can't do any exercise at the moment due a bulged disc in my spine, which ironically is the reason I'm currently overweight and need to do exercise. But I can't do exercise because of a bulged disc......etc etc

oh yeah, the 'bulged disc' excuse eh? I know how you feel mate, had one of those some years back and it's no fun. I'm using the "I live overseas" excuse myself. Lets see how that one swims!
Dammit; 33 and two stone over weight.

did you do anything to get it sorted? Physio is doing nothing, and I had a hospital procedure to inject steroids into my spine, which seems to have not worked so I may have to get it again. I'm at my wits end
I want to lose some weight but have a healthy bmi, so that's me out of it then
Sounds like a Player recruitment drive by Harry redknapp

Willing to bet that if you swam back to London you would loose a good amount of weight. You might even make it back in time for the Rog FoF meet up in July. :021:
Excuse...what excuse.
Just spoken to Hugh
Hopefully I am in
those that have spoken and are in, is Hugh arranging a meet with you?

I spoke to Hugh Thomson, the chap running the Fulham campaign, as like you I have an OK BMI and it is not a problem.
The emphasis is on keeping, or getting fit, for us who were once teenagers a few decades ago. Give him a call or send an e-mail.
Oh, and by the way I have signed up.
I am seeing him Tuesday at his offices near MP
I've spoken with Hugh and am meeting him before the Preston matc :-)
Just met with Hugh and signed up
Great deal .
Free and sponsored by the Club .
Starts in Jan .
He is still looking for more volunteers .

So I saw my back surgeon this morning. He said in order to assess the ongoing issues I have with it I need to start doing exercise again. So I have contacted Hugh and have signed up, on the proviso that the exercises won't further harm my injury (heavy lifting etc)
Just to add to Riverside's comment Hugh is still looking for volunteers - the only criteria is it is intended for the over 35's (even those who are not overweight). The emphasis is on keeping fit - or getting there for some of us!!!
Saw Hugh last night and he's very enthusiastic about this programme. As others have said its all about encouraging some activity into your life with an element of fun with fellow Fulham fans (its once a week for 2 hours at the cottage for about 12 weeks starting January). It also has the added bonus of comparing our progress against Brentford and Spurs fans so would be great to get a few more gents signed up and don't forget its all free and backed by Fulham.
