If I had said that back at some customers who have given me abuse before I'd have been sacked.
A man who can't control his emotions clearly and should rise above it.

I think you need to let your emotional hate for Pearson go, and think about his managerial attributes for once. Just like Matt Smith, I think you're being slightly over the top, and he will do a good here at FFC.

Please don't take this as a pop, like you, I always have the Clubs best interests at heart, but we desperately need a new direction, and I believe Pearson will bring that.

However, I'm still not convinced it's him yet.

This is not about his managerial abilities at all.
Never mentioned them once.
It's about the person and his personality makeup, who potentially will be our manager.

As for Matt Smith what's that got to do with this discussion?

Well I for one doesn't want a pussycat managing the players KS was a players man ,probably to much and there was his problem I think.

You've got me all wrong as usual.

If he is named our Manager I will support him 100%, just like I did Kit.

I have concerns but I am willing to give him a clean slate and judge him on his time with FFC rather than the negative stuff at Leicester.

Get the feeling Mike and I will soon enough be able to say "hate to say, I told you so" with the same glee you did with Kit's demise.

Kit's demise should never have been allowed to continue passed last summer. He should have been thanked for what he did, gone back to managing the under 21's or something, possibly a No.2, and an experienced manager drafted in to continue the job. Obviously Kit was never going to turn down the opportunity of managing FFC, who in their right mind would, especially a Fulham man, but the majority of us knew he was well out of his depth. For me, it was just a matter of time and yes, I hate to say I told you so.

A Good manager. I think he'll do well at Blackburn, he has everywhere else he's been. Apart from villa, but no one seems to do well at Villa for some reason.

There shouldn't be the same expectation for managers to not react to that sort of stuff, compared to, say, someone interacting with a customer. To me, that's as daft a comparison as the footballers and soldiers wage debate you see brought up in the Sun ever so often. It's just a completely different dynamic.

Another thing... There are fans that sit near me at games that genuinely deserve to be told to "f*** off" ever so often, such is the amount of rubbish they unaccountably direct at players and staff.

Totally disagree, he's doing his job, he's had an altercation with a fan/customer and that's how he reacted. Explain why its different?

'Football manager' as an occupation involves such a unique type of pressure -- not MORE pressure, I should say -- that I don't think you can compare to a more straightforward dynamic between an employee and customer in another line of work. Ideally, he doesn't tell a fan to "f*** off an die", but I think he can be partially forgiven due to the circumstances he found himself in leading up to the comment. First full season as a Premier League manager, constant media scrutiny, fans against him to the point of insults aimed at him only metres away from the dug out... Of course I agree with you that Pearson was wrong to say what he did -- it's mainly the fan/customer comparison as the latter is such a clearcut relationship for the most part. Fans and managers isn't.

Hope I've clarified my original post a little bit as I realise it was a bit vague.

Some of us do. Not me though.

Its the same as players giving stick to the fans. If i was a player who was getting abuse everytime i played, and I came back and scored the winner against them. You bet your ass id be doing cartwheels cupping my ears and stuff.

If they give it they have to be prepared to take it

And to think a lot of people wanted to sell Zamora after he shushed the fans booing him.

Pearson telling fans to 'F off and Die' is fine and should be applauded?

Brilliant. What a lovely family club we remain.

Whilst I agree, I think it died when Mo said this:-

If some stupid fans don't understand and appreciate such a gift this guy gave to the world they can go to hell.

"I don't want them to be fans.

"If they don't understand and don't believe in things I believe in they can go to Chelsea, they can go to anywhere else," he added.

Whilst I don't think Peason was right to say it, at least it wasn't the owner/chairman of the club!!

I feel that Nigel Pearsons behaviour has been dissected left right and centre, and is being turned into a drama, too many righteous condemnations for my liking. Please do not misunderstand, I am not condoning his reactions and behaviour and responses.
It may turn out that Fulham FC appoint someone else, but if he happens to be new manager, let's at least give him an opportunity to show he does not deserve some of these prejudgements.

Yes, I quite agree.
Concerns are natural but yes, he should at least be given a clean slate. I agree.
He could turn out to be a Saint, and if he succeeds in rescueing our season, you may even warm to him. [/quote]

But if another manager gets chosen, then you can commence defaming his character if his face doesn't fit.

Errrm, I think this is a little more than his face not fitting. The end of his time at Leicester became farcical...he fell out with the press, the fans, the owners. He 'attacked' an opposition player round the throat and told some fans to 'go forth, multiply and then die'.

Hardly his "face not fitting".

All concerns over this man are completely justified in my opinion.
