Title: QPR
Post by: Fulham76 on February 06, 2016, 10:28:21 PM
Interested to hear early predictions for this one?

We're clearly desperate for 3 points & they seem to be improving. I appreciate they are a juggernaut of world football who couldn't care less about us & will no doubt swamp west London with their hardcore 120,000 fans, but we're uncomfortably close to the relegation places, therefore the ha ha's suddenly become a big game.

Last comment from me for today and another depressing one, 3-2 defeat, but another improved performance!

Can see us winning, think Jokanovic will get his first win there ,so does he, just got that feeling.
Rangers improving but they're not pulling trees up.
Massive game now, every point vital just wish our fans would snap up the remaining tickets and give the boys great support

Well, the bookies have us as serious outsiders 3/1 the win......QPR 5/6 the win.......5/2 the draw.....some bookies now have us at 4/1 for relegation........i think the game against QPR will be another draw, probably 1-1.....i can see us getting a few more draws and the odd loss before we get 3 points

I don't know why but I can also see us winning this one, 1-2 maybe. If our players can stay strong & not be intimidated by their unbelievable, huge & ferocious support, I think we can finally get 3 points.

I know a bit about QPHa , and I to think a win is possible here, BUT , and it is a big BUT, their strength matches up directly with our weakness,
Let me explain, they are very strong out wide, Matt Phillips and Junior Hoillett are both playing for moves in the summer and are suddenly playing for a contract elsewhere , they will be up against Fulham's biggest weakness the fullback positions, it worries me the prospect of Garbutt and Richards against those two, especially if one of them picks up a yellow so early as Garbutt did yesterday,
If we can find a way to nullify those two then we have every chance, because just about everything else is in our favour,
The rest of their midfield is ordinary bordering on poor, and I see no reason whatsoever why Cairney, Ince and O'Hara can't boss midfield,
Physically QPHa are not a big strong side, so it's very very rare for anybody to say this but from corners and free kicks we are going to carry a threat, so because of this I would start Matt Smith next week, him Ince, Amorebietta and to a degree Burn could prove a real handful to them,
Their supporters really see this as their chance to gain revenge over us and they don't just want to win one nil but they are looking for 4,5 or 6, this in its self will put more pressure on their team,
One last point, their own weakness is at left back with Paul Konchesky, his legs have gone now and it would be good to see either Fredericks or Lanyard running at him, they would tear him apart, I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody else at left back against us,
The loan window opens on Tuesday I wonder if we will be looking to bring a forward in or stick with what we've got ? After watching the statuesque performance of Dembele I'm hoping we bring a forward in that understands the meaning of "creating space"
I'm going for a Fulham win and a result that kick starts the reign of Slavisa Jokanovic !
Come on you super Whites.

Good post Riversider. Score draw for me.  Unfortunately, Rob Green is no longer considered for selection due to his contract situation which is a real shame.

Playing at Laugh-tus Road will no doubt be playing inside a cauldron of hate......not!!!! I've come out the gym sweating more than when I've had the desperate experience of visiting that dump and all those many thousands and thousands of their fans, if you believe any of the toilet they spew out. I'll happily take a point but i'd love to win ( obviously ) and happily not win another league game all season but remain in the Championship for 2016/17.

Just can't think how Jokanovic is going to turn the lacklustre side that failed to score against an out of form Derby at the Cottage  yesterday into a team capable of scoring and winning at Loftus Road.

Calm down, QPR aren't that good! I'd much rather play them away than an out-of-form Derby at home.

I enjoy our matches with them, probably because the 2 QPR fans I know are decent blokes.  Relations have grown rather silly over the last few years but seems to be settling down to a normal rivalry.

On a tangent, was anyone else in the Enclosure when it kicked off back in the 80s? I wonder if the QPR guys who caused the trouble ever reflected on their 'heroics' starting trouble in an area populated by numerous women & children?

Some of their inbred weirdo fans had a go in the late 1990's/early 2000's as well! Seem to remember one of their fans bragging about 'windmilling' through our fans, (women & children no doubt), what a tough guy!! Tit!

I'm already hearing the usual crap from the few ha ha fans I know, (well 1 actually), about how poor our support is, how top class theirs is etc.. etc.. Didn't sell their allocation at our place last time & probably won't sell out the home area next weekend. Don't think they've sold out their titchy little place all season. Again...

Even with it being a local derby with all that FFC v  QPR entails, I think we will win.

We have played well and got an unlucky loss (Hull), and a draw (Derby), against good opposition.
I've said before, the win will come. But not necessarily against the best teams in the division.

We will get our results against the mid table teams.
Not against the top teams who have everything to play for.
Or the bottom teams who are fighting for their lives.

I see this as a win. Its just a pity that it is such a highly volatile, bragging rights game.
Which means anything can happen.

Still a win for me tho...

COYW!

I am finding it difficult to see past a draw, at best...

The last few games have shown a steady improvement, but we just don't have the killer instinct up front or the winning mentality as a team.

At the risk of you accusing me of being a QPR fan again but why do you constantly state they never sold out at our place?. They have every time.
They got an extra 1000 tickets for the game earlier this season taking it to 4000 which is a lot more we're taking saturday. They had tickets up until a day or two before which eventually went.
Every one of those games were live on Sky too, sunday, monday and a friday

A combination of empty seats in the away end & their constant claims to take over the cottage, which of course wasn't even close to happening, nor are they capable of doing such a thing to any stadium in the football league. Or conference for that matter!

We'll have to disagree but as far as I'm concerned empty seats means failure to sell allocation, despite them being the best supported team on the planet  :005: it didn't happen at our place. Brentford did, they must have had about 6k at the cottage.

Even though QPR have one of the smallest capacities in the league for home supporters , they've had to put tickets for this game on general sale !
Still, I understand plans for their 40,000 all seater stadium are coming along nicely !  :005: :005: :005:

QPR can only sell what they're given, clubs generally get a 2998 allocation, they can apply for an  extra 1000 if demand is there which is what they did..
Brentford was a totally different situation because Fulham were advised by the police to give Brentford 6000 last season and 5000 this year. Brentfords cup final and all that.
As for home their home games on general sale, so what? We do it , you say you only know one Rangers fan, I know bloody loads of em, I live, work and socialize with them. They dont think they're the biggest club in the world with 120,000 fans the more deluded amongst them think they're bigger than us.
Speak to the more sensible and knowledgeable among their numbers like the mates I'm meeting after the game Saturday and they'll tell you Fulham and QPR are two very similar sized clubs.

True, it was so long ago I had forgotten, let's hope for a repeat performance though I don't think it will be that easy this time.
