Title: Old Sod's Army.
Post by: bog on August 11, 2010, 08:37:29 AM
Morning all. No doubt that this would have been posted before, but, if Bobby does play tonight will that be the first time a Fulham player will have been picked for scoring goals since Bedford Jezzard back in 1956 against N Ireland?

I'm sure that's true (although maybe harsh on Haynes) but I think there was a game in the early 70s when Malcolm MacDonald, Alan Clarke and Rodney Marsh played together for England.

That may be a trick of memory but they were winning caps at about the same time.

All ex Fulham of course. What might have been.

Johnny Haynes scored eighteen goals for England. With respect to BZ I can't see him matching that although I would love him to do so.

Two of our biggest ever disasters in the transfer market, Marsh and MacDonald....as for Clarke...what a goalscorer he was ....

I could never be hard on the maestro! He was picked for his supreme passing and leadership abilities. no slight intended against our number one best ever player!
