Title: Poll about the job our new manager has done
Post by: Lighthouse on May 02, 2016, 12:45:42 PM
Has Joka done a good job. If not is it any of it his fault?

Most fans want him to stay. Even those who think he has done poorly.

BUT just on the job so far as he done a good job up to now or made too many mistakes.

I would give him more time (at least the whole of next season unless we suffer a Magath style collapse), but I think Slavisa has done a poor job so far.

Can we have a poll about which one we prefer of the two polls about the manager which are currently running on here?

In the end he kept us in the division which is what he was expected to do.

Maybe he keeps changing the formation and first eleven because he is experimenting in advance of next season. Or am I giving him too much credit.

Well the first poll asked if Joka should be sacked. That was a foregone conclusion. Even those who thought he had made mistakes thought he should be kept on. Only a few wanted a new manager. Whereas this poll is far more scientific :008:. Nobody can say he was a success. But considering everything has he done a good job or not? Already the results show a much tighter correlation to the hypotenuse of the data in the abstract ventilation. I am sure we can all agree on that.

You tell your old dog he'll have to wait his turn.
Given our current turnover of managers that should be just after Christmas.

Come 12th or 21st, both mean survival. Has he succeeded in keeping us up? Yes.

I generally think he is good, my only nagging concern was the continual tinkering with the defence when it's blindingly obvious that we needed consistency of selection.

The only consistency was Madl. And Bettinelli when he returned.

I voted yes but he hasnt done agood job ,but not a bad one either . I would have liked `He hasnt done very well but I would still keep him on as an option `

As there was already a poll asking if he should stay it pretty much is established that a vast majority want him to stay. But this poll was just asking who thought he had done a good job. As the results already show the numbers are much closer as one would expect. A third choice of yes and no was a thought but I just was interested to know the views.

He didn't!!!. It was just lucky that there were 3 teams worse than us in the division this year, hard to believe after the way we played this year, but the league table doesn't lie!

I cannot look upon finishing 21st as any kind of success.
Perhaps it is a little better than where we deserved to finish!!

And Amorebieta. And Lonergan before Bettinelli returned. And Garbutt got a run of games at left-back before our manager decided (presumably) that he hadn't done well enough and his place went to Ream. When Jokanovic played a 3-5-2 formation, Burn was his choice as the additional centre-back. Only at right-back can it be said, in my opinion, that Jokanovic failed to identify a player whom he preferred to play regularly.

I voted no but I do not want him removed as manager. He needs full control of all things football related and judged thoroughly once he has his own squad.

Interesting to take the two polls together. Needless to say the vast majority of us want to keep a manager for a little longer. I suspect that many are fed up with the constant changeover of managers over the last three awful seasons.

A third of us don't think Joka has done a good job though. Which is still a low percentage considering how poorly we have performed. Again I suspect people are willing to blame everything on anybody but our present manager.
