It's not a coincidence this happened today, it was overloaded due to transfer day site traffic.
As we can only afford loan strikers 50p for the meter is a bit of a stretch.

I'm pretty sure if every Fulham fan in the world logged into this site and was actively posting at the same time, the traffic still wouldn't be enough to crash a normal server. But I could be wrong. Would love to know what really happened.

I don't think that's correct. Per the mods, they've already had issues before the massive traffic experienced today.
