2.8 billion usd? I heard it was 3.4 according to Forbes.. who put the NYY brand at 660 million usd alone but their revenue at 516 million usd - 259 million of which apparently comes from gate receipts... which I can't help but think means the costs/figures have to be inflated because in all honesty, their attendance has apparently dropped and outside of the states very few countries have a genuine national interest in Baseball - Japan being the most prominent. Apparently the Yankee Stadium cost 1.1 billion to build (seems extortionately large sum although probably the most likely) and they have a figure attributed to 'market' of 1.6 billion.. which again needs to be explained more and made a case for, especially as mentioned earlier if their revenue only hits 516 million USD.
