Title: Sir Bobby Robson would have been 84 today...
Post by: LBNo11 on February 18, 2017, 03:10:31 PM
...Sir Bobby Robson would have been 84 years old today, a real football fan, one of us, he loved the sport and the fans. The difference being he applied his skill learned with Fulham as a player to become a manager - typical of Fulham he was sacked in his first job as a manager (Trinder was influenced by that crook Eric Miller). A Geordie who loved Fulham - RIP Sir Bobby...

Here is a tribute placed on the gates by the cottage written by Corked Hat/The Bard, John Henry Ellen, also sadly now gone:-

Lovely !

Hanging around outside the Cottage as a lad with my mates after playing football next door in the park we would often see the players come and go on non match days.

Bobby Keetch, always looked immaculate, Haynes always in a hurry, Langley, Brown, Leggat all happy to stop and chat but Bobby Robson would have brief kick about (probably very brief) more than once and I've always remembered those times.

He is a genuine Great!
