Title: Evra sent off for kicking fan NFR

This happened before the game started and he was a sub, can you really be sent off before the game kicks off, no pun intended

Interestingly the club kicked off with 11 players, I have no idea what the rule is here but i wondered if theyd have had to sacrifice someone and start with 10

He was a sub, so my understanding is that it did not effect the starting eleven.

That is true WM but surely you only come under the refs control when he blows the whistle?

Law 3.6. A Referee has the power and can prevent a player from entering the field of play and not take any part, prior to the commencement of the match, if the player has transgressed.
