Tough, tough game this, and one I'm not looking forward to. Typical, tough, physical, well drilled side that we always struggle against, and on top of this, they are playing with confidence.
Not quite sure what they're feeding them up there, possibly just good tactics, confidence, and a desire to win games, but at the moment, it doesn't seem to be a fluke.
As it stands, Sheffield United are 2nd in the Championship, have lost just 5 games, haven't drawn any, but are also joint 2nd in goals scored.
We should have a fit Johansen back, plus Kebaon, and an un-suspended McDonald, but, we will still fall short of goals upfront with Fonte' and Kamara.
I can only see another loss here, however, would be delighted if we came away with another draw.
No way we can win this.
I'm sure the players don't go into a match saying "no way can we win this" and neither should we. Ok, we aren't favorites but there is always a chance.
Our away record is decent and we certainly can win this. We played quite well yesterday, have McDonald to return and can give it a go. Sheffield will be under some pressure to attack us and that may just play into our hands.
Lets not lie. On paper we have a much better team than Sheffield United. So don't know why people are saying there is 'no way we can win this' that being said it will be a very tough game.

Solid 2-0 or 3-1 Fulham win. You heard it here first.
The performance yesterday suggested to me our confidence is creeping back. Norwood and Kamara are finally settling in and learning what role they can play in our system. McDonald and possibly Johansen will be back, if not we've the kids chomping at the bit. Sheffield United are nothing special, certainly no more intimidating than Derby. Plus we've the advantage that they've not experienced our style before. They'll think we're bloody Barcelona! COYW
I really like your positivity and it's one the team should share.

Let's not lie ?
Nurse he's out of bed again.
But you just have. They are 16 points clear of us, almost twice as many points. They are more consistent, tougher, stronger, better coached, far better in the air. They have more leaders and fighters.
I shall name you Cyclopes, as you are so one eyed, it's criminal. 👁
They have scored more goals and let in less.
They know how to win, they have won three times as many as us, and they don't bother with draws.
They have more Bolox than us. They are well drilled on the basics.
Their players have more character than ours. They know how to front up and defend a lead, and they know how to win at home 7 out of 8.
Having said that, on the day anyone can beat anyone else, and I hope we can turn them over.
But to say we have far better players, that is blind loyalty.
I do think we have more chance after what we showed yesterday- more fight and intensity, players covering back defensively, and looking stronger at the back, though still prone to those silly errors and losing possession in defensive areas, which again cost us a goal yesterday.
Hopefully we can get something from the game on Tuesday -
COYW!

Player for player we have better players than them, They might have more character, spirit and fight or whatever but footballer for footballer we have the better team. Not saying it means we will win but is stupid to say we have no chance.

Stupid to say we have no chance..........I totally agree.
Not sure we have a much better team though. Toothless attack, centre mids prone to errors, some very questionable summer signings. Player for player I think the claim that we are better is rather debatable.
Yes it is stupid to say we have no chance, so who said it, cause it wasn't me. Own up.

Have you been using that paper to roll some extremely strong joints or are you just in a good mood?
To say we have a much better team than them is incredibly short sighted as they have a team that have consistently beaten teams we have consistently struggled against.
I'll admit now and say I will struggle to name 5/6 Sheff Utd players, but just because we have a few big names in midfield makes us a target for smaller teams rather than saying we are stronger than other teams who have been better than us.
But that's not to say we can't win, confidence means a hell of a lot in this league, and who knows what mentality comes out of the dressing room this week
We have two chances on Tuesday, a dogs chance and a snowballs chance in hell.
Of course global warming may have hit hard in Yorkshire and hell may just have cooled down a bit.
There that is positive thinking, just wish I could think how and when a Fulham striker is going to score a goal.

Blotting paper.
We have the capacity to destroy them, and most other teams in this league, as per last season. Will we? Hmm.
Im going to stick my neck out and say we will get 3 points on tuesday !

Hmm Jok will be pleased to read your comment, as he probably feels the same.
It's all food for thought.
I once had a pet Giraffe who stuck his neck out, and his friend the Swan also stuck his neck out. Both were Fulham Supporters.
But you could be so right. It would be very Fulhamish, but why not, I just hope we are not as predictable as we can be, as I fear if we are, we could come unstuck.
It could be time to spring a pleasant surprise, the trick is to score more than we let in, can we achieve that on Tuesday.
Not sure if they have strength in depth in their squad but one of thier midfielders suffered a horrendous injury last Friday.
United are a newly promoted team. They GOT promoted to this league because they knew how to close out games. On-paper player comparison doesn't matter when one side knows how to close out a match and the other doesn't.
I'm not saying we can't beat them -- even at their place -- but if you're looking for a reason why they appear to be playing above their head, THAT's the reason.
11 v 11 we have a chance of winning!
May well come down to which team scores first - and Sharpe certainly appears to be an in form striker at the moment.
If Utd get into the lead they are capable of shutting us out - however if we score first all to play for.
We are better away from home, and both Cairney and MacDonald should be available, so are capable of getting a result - just not a clean sheet at the moment which means we need to score at least two!
I lived in Sheffield for 30 years and have mates who are fans. Overall opinion from them is that they are brilliant at pressing up front and attacking but a bit fragile in defence. Defensive record looks good because of their attacking style and not giving the oppo much ball time. Agreed its 11 v 11 but I worry about our defence. We rarely manage to stay intact at the back these days and in the face of a really good attack, I worry about this game. The saving grace for me personally is that I now live 350 miles from Sheffield so wont have to take all the flak in the pub - small mercies eh!
My brother-in-law is a big Sheffield Utd fan, so I'll be hosting him in the mixed stand in March. I've got a soft spot for the Blades, nice to see them doing well.
I hope we absolutely paste them tomorrow!
Realistically, I'll be content with a draw.
I was close to buying tickets for this, but sadly remembered how grateful of myself I was for not going to Wolves away.
Sheffield is too far to drive home pissed off.

This is a bit of a silly statement, what evidence is there that we have a better team than them? They are in the top 2 on merit and we have a struggling mid-table squad.
High Pressing team with lots of energy so with Cairney playing we may be able to exploit that tactic for once if we avoid shooting ourselves in the foot. They will leave a lot of space in behind id go for kamara up front for his pace and physicality in case we have to play the ball long. Should be an exciting game but a tough one.
I'm going and I fancy 3 points!
I think we'll nick it 2-1 and begin our slog up the table, aided by the acquisition of a formidable striker in January.

I was just about to say that myself.
They will play open football and go for the win I suspect as they are full of confidence. As a result we may/can score first making it an even more open game.
A draw or win for us is possible.
But if they score first we will probably lose imo.
Tough game in any case. We should go for it.
Coyw!
We may have a chance, I can't see Slav surviving if he does not win soon.

Formidable minds think alike, Woolly.
Having finally got round to watching the 2nd half of the Derby match, got to say that I thought we played a lot better except of course that we haven't got a striker and the corners were almost as poor as usual. I thought De La Torre looked encouraging, Fonte should really start packing his bags (no idea what he is doing in our team) and Kamara should maybe be sent out on loan. It was a good to see a lot more dangerous balls into the box, but a shame nobody there to apply a finishing touch. Prediction for tonight is not good so better keep it to myself, oh ok then 3 or 4-1 defeat!!
Ok we have not had the results we all expected this season, but why is a number on here think we are rubbish. We are weak up front, agreed, but that was the same last year. We still play good football and no team will take us lightly including Sheffield tonight. Look at the teams last season who were riding high and tried to play football against us and shot themselves in the foot. So win lose or draw tonight if Sheffield think we are poor more fool them. We should be back to full strength tonight so I expect a good game and performance.

Woolly I have almost given up on you, my main tipster who made me so much money this season, only to let me down changing your focus to Brandy and not football, shame on you! What was worse was that I had to continue with that cheap substitute, no not Rui Fonte, Gordons! I have seen the way forward though, cancelling all my betting accounts, not accepting most of what I read on here and now having to lead a quiet and abnormal life, any tips for Saturday??

No tips so far as my Crystal Ball is in the Dry Cleaners.
However, although no tips, I can recommend a tipple of the finest Rocket Fuel, under the guise of your finest Gordon's, and please do not consider retiring from public life just yet, as there are plenty of challenges to come, like shoving Klines stats through the shredder.
