That defeat at Brentford has really made it clear that we are not in the promotion race. At this moment the thought of a cup run is no compensation.

I am not so sure.  Surely six wins against better opposition on a Cup run would do wonders for our bank balance, team confidence, and a real attempt at taking the Championship by the scruff of the neck this season or next.

Agreed.  But what odds do you offer on beating Southampton let alone 6 wins?
