And the merry go round goes round and round.😊
Forgot about him.
Maybe I could enhance my career through chronic failure and sackings. Seems to work for these guys.
There are obviously a lot less managers out there than we thought. Can't see too many Stoke fans being impressed with this appointment.
If I was a Stoke fan I would be every underwhelmed.

I am getting dizzy.
No disrespect to Lambert but is that REALLY the best they can do?

Of course but his record is not that stimulating....mind you when Roy Hodgson first took over.....Â
Hmmm if I were a Stoke fan i'd be underwhelmed.
Hiring a manager knowing only that they have failed before hence there out of work is a risk,I suppose it's that or an untried ex player.
Have all these journeyman managers got a cartel so they can keep swapping around. Would not want a single one of them.
guaranteed. Come 1st June, Paul Lambert will be unemployed and Mark Hughes will have been employed by some team pushing the panic button.
My bet is Southampton .
Terrible appointment.
Doesn't matter really. Hughes has already done the damage
I don't think it is so bad. They have changed things which might help at not a lot of money probably short contract until the end of the season. Then if they are relegated employ a big name to get them promoted again. It certainly is not McGath

Three other people turned down the job before they got to Lambert.
He'll soon discover the unalloyed joy of a squad that features two 30+ paceless strikers [the only ones good enough to get on the pitch] and a defense that has serious injury problems -- not to mention having lost one of Stoke's only two creative attackers in the summer.
Hughes could have kept them up given a decent January transfer period. I'm not sure anyone else can.Â
They were awful today. United never got out of first gear. They have let in more goals that any other premiership team and really are a team of mis fits. Hughes has set the table for relegation and I feel sorry for Lambert.
It could work out for Stoke rather better than our Club's machinations post Jol, and perhaps at least one eye of the Stoke owners is on a freefall drop into the Championship. A lot will depend on what Lambert can do to turn around confidence. Could have been better choices but also many worse ones.Â
Lambert is one of the better managers out there. He's experienced in managing problematic situations and doesn't like losing. The Wolves team he brought to the Cottage last season annihilated us...and that was before Wolves spent the really big bucks.
Anyone who has managed at Blackburn in recent season is unlikely to be pressing the panic button.
While I totally agree on the merry-go-round comments I don't think Lambert is as poor as some make out. Carborundum's observation about Wolves last season is spot on. He set them up very well and we were outplayed all over the pitch.
To say he's one of the better managers out here is OTT. He is distinctly average. He has effectively a 39% win ratio which is average for most managers. His time at Villa was boring and that his Villa team scored just 12 goals in 25 league games before his sacking proves it. If hew w2as coming to Fulham Id be disappointed, if I was Stokes fan (who went from Sanchez Flores, O'Neil and Rowett to lambert remember) I'd be fuming.
All managers are average until they do something special......

No it wasn't. By then Wolves had Costa and Cavaleiro who they bought for 12m and 15m, As well as Ola John, Saiss and Silvio all on big wages. Paul Lamberts stint at Wolves was on the whole a failure. He refused to play Cavaleiro and Saiss who have been 2 of Wolves best players this season because they didn't work hard enough.

I think it was Neves, signed this summer that they paid £15m for. Cavaliero reportedly cost £7m according to several sources via Google. No idea what the players get paid, but when a manager doesn't play someone who has high profile but doesn't work hard enough, they often go up in my estimation.

Doesn't make him one of the better managers out there though. There's a lot of managers who don't play high profile players to their detriment.
