Both newbies on the bench.
Target playing so Sees can push forwards!
Fancy this today 😁

As expected. We have a hell of a strong bench. Button, Odoi, Christise, Kamara, Ayite, Kebano & Mitrovic.

Good attacking bench, not sure I would have started with Piazon and of course Fonte!

No CMs on the bench. 🤞none of Norwood, Johansen or Mcdonald get injured. Although I presume he'd pull piazon back into that role as he's probably best suited

Odoi could play there

Or Christie I believe can play there

Would rather play Sess on TC position

It is rather fit than happy.
We have 22 in the senior squad, 18 in the matchday team plus TC and Ojo, leaves Cisse and Djalo.

We have youngsters like Edun who would walk into most teams

This is the true test to see if our run of form can continue, and if this Piazon-Fonte pairing can hold off the likes of Kamara or Mitrovic from starting. Fonte has more pressure on himself than anyone imho. Was Burton match a fluke? Maybe so. Fonte doesn't have time anymore though, and he will need to feel the pressure and stop being a utility player. He has a single digit number, Mitro and AK do not - if that means anything, it's his to lose.

Exactly. Then you know where Cisse and Djalo are in the pecking order.

Cairney must be injured still. Is he?
After this January transfer window we have no need to put him unfit on the bench.

Really, we don't have too many midfield options!

I need to report to Davew - I'm afraid Fonte was totally ineffective again !

We played some nice stuff and Piazon goal was great - but looked really toothless of most of the first 50 minutes

In a way lucky that Betts made an unbelievably brilliant save and I thought they should have had a penalty as well

Why start Piazon and Fonte with 4 strikers on the bench ?

Anyway ...very satisfying win as everything went our way again

Hope we don't have to discuss (and agree) on the Fonte situation next week, Joka must see shat we see week in week out, except when we gave him a sympathy vote for man of the match against Burton. I would love to see Fonte perform well and show us why somebody thought he was worth all that money, sadly I think he missed his chance now.
