Fulham Football Club
@FulhamFC
The Club are deeply saddened to learn of the death of former player Stan Brown at the age of 76. Our thoughts are with Stan's family and friends at this sad time.
The club has announced the death Of Stan Brown. The ultimate professional, he never let the club down
Sad news. One of my all time favourite players. RIP Stan.
Remember him well from his playing days.RIP Stan
One of my favourites as well. He got his head on everything - my mate and I used to joke that if he took penalties he would take them with his head. Makes you wonder if all that heading of the old heavy football was his ultimate downfall
News doesn't come much sadder than that.
As much as any player I can think of, Stan embodied the values of Fulham FC with his commitment, enthusiasm, integrity, skill and loyalty.
RIP Stan
I still remeber his header against WBA
That is really sad news.
He was a seriously good footballer.
I am very sad to read this. If there was ever a loyal clubman it was Stan. I saw his debut at centre forward and then become a hard working midfielder. Just used to get on with playing. RIP Stan.
1960-72-353 appearances, 16 goals.
RIP Stan.
A real club man who was with us in the good and not so good times. A true pro. always hard working and I was always pleased he played for us and not against us. Thanks for the memories.
RIP Stan.
This news has really saddened me. I remember well that the team used to return from away matches on the Football Special train. A few of us played cards with Stan & other players. Got to know him quite well. Good club man, worked hard. Never a great player but he always put in 100% effort.
One of those you think - "gosh in the modern game he'd be a gem". Up & down, good header, never let you down. No prima donna there! RIP
Stan just had to be everyones favourite, never heard a bad word said about him. What a hard worker whether playing at centre forward or midfield.
Thanks for all the enjoyment you gave me Stan.
RIP Stan, a Fulham Great 9739.gif
My favourite player from the sixties. Very versatile and always gave his best. Thanks for very many memories including the disappointed expression on his face as he disentangled himself from the net at the Hammersmith end after Fulham had conceded a goal.
A real loyal club man, and a players player if ever there was one. I always remember his winner in our 1 0 win v the millionaire club Everton in the sixties when he scored from a corner at the Putney end. Top man, RIP Stan, never forgotten. ⚽️⚽️
RIP my all time favourite.....guess there will no longer be any player that will play in every position on the pitch.....and that includes (emergency) goalkeeper.
Stan epitomised Fulham, with his attitude - always worked hard for the team, never put in less than 100 percent, a true club man, and a quiet hero.
RIP
Totally agree with all the above especially CMG. He was a true Fulham Great.
One of my favourites from the 60's Stan Brown played in every position for us including in goal. A true utility player who would never let you down wherever he played. Condolences to his family and friends & RIP Stan Brown

Well said Andy, I would echo that.
He was before my time. He clearly has a place in the heart for many on here. Not sure this is the thread but would be interested to know if any of you could tell us a player in the modern era that resembled his play, just to give us an idea.
Clearly, the club will do something to remember him. I far prefer a minutes applause in these types of situations.
Play anywhere, that was Stan such a sad loss. RIP
RIP Stan, a Fulham man through and through.
What sad sad news, and deepest condolences to Stan's family and close friends.
A real Fulham stalwart held in such high esteem by those of us lucky enough to witness his strenuous efforts on behalf of our beloved club.
Stan features heavily in one of my very special Fulham memories.
Back in 62 we were down among the strugglers again when the millionaires of Everton came to town. The Maestro had just broken his leg and this was our first home game without him with league leaders Everton heavy favourites.
They hadn't allowed for Fulhamish and the 33,000 voices roaring them on, enter the inventor of the long throw Jim Langley and a flick on found dear Stan rushing in at the far post to put us into a lead we didn't relinquish.
A thirteen year old Fernhurst was so so happy and happier still 40 odd years later when I was privileged to shake Stan's hand at the unveiling of The Maestros statue.
Believe it or not I have a recording of the highlights of that game never ever published anywhere else.
Rest in Peace Stan, the Fulham Family are all thinking of you.
Very sad news. Fulham through and through
I started going to watch Fulham in his final couple of seasons. It's a sad moment when your boyhood heroes pass on. You want them to live forever.
My condolences to his family, friends and those on here who watched the teams he was part of.
RIP Stan. A real Fulham man .
Surely the observation that Johnny Haynes himself made of Stan Brown stands as the ultimate epitaph;
"Stan Brown is the kind of player you only notice when he is not playing....."
Such was his effect on a game. Not flashy, totally reliable, in fact the ultimate professional.
RIP Stan. Those of us who had the privilege of seeing you plying your craft will never forget you.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure to give access to The Fulham Family to footage of our team never seen before, however there is a very good reason why it is not possible. Will PM you to explain.
