I was there for that match , the biggest home defeat I have ever seen I think , a forward called Jones??? got a hat-trick nasty piece of work if i remember right.
Fantastic Photos, can see a younger Mince in the Hammersmith.
Remember the day not just for the hammering but also had a bad dose of the flu,was in bed for a week after.π

lol...I can just make myself out further up the back, guy who always stood next to me was called Simon.
I was there but always stood mid way up to the right of the Green pole (next section) - they never seemed to take photos from that side -
I know I'm ugly but really!
Weird when you think that a hell of a lot of us on this board have never met but probably saw each other many times without saying hello!
Well before Social media of course.
it seems like the return of a bad dream or something we a keen to forget. Hard to describe how bad things were .
We must be grateful to Jimmy Hill and his friends who saw us through those and then to Micky Adams who started the revival and MAF who brought back the good times.

I said Hello to you on 358 different occasions, but you never answered once.πππ
I was there in the JH Stand. Block G Row A seat 12
Seems strange looking at these memories that 14 years later we made it back to the top flight and stayed there for so long.

Lol - too much loud music and booze- was I staggering around like a fool?
Quite often I'd go to the back little hut to get a pie or tea - was never the queues like today.
If I look closely I'm standing in the enclosure near the half way line.Β One good thing was the company of my fellow supporters.
I remember seeing you Mince being frog marched out of the ground by two burly police officers for disturbing the peace.Β 063.gif

lol....
Sounds like my mum Sharon. But your dates are off, he was managing 90-91 unfortunately, both from a date mistake and an horrific flash back point of view. Hey ho we all lived to tell another tale.

Obviously wasn't that game then, but I remember Sharon giving the verbals to Dicks or someone,So Sharon is your Mum,does she still go to the games?
Yup she does indeed, in the Hammersmith End. And like everyone at the time had no qualms about volleying vitriol at Dicks.

Bit embarassing hearing your Mother shouting "Dick's Out" surely!

Didn't Andy Jones score four in that game? Decent player at that level.Β Won caps for Wales IIRC and went to Charlton for what then seemed a big fee.
Horrible bleak winter day, look how empty everywhere is with people huddling together. Ground neglected with weeds growing through the terracing while that a******e Clay pocketed five million pounds and buggered off. Thought we'd had it that day and we would be out of the Cottage at the end of the season. Horrible time.
Just moved to Glasgow at that time, but the protests were on the news up there, and my wife's relatives were impressed by Fulham fans' loyalty andΒ refusal to be pushed around.
Coincidentally, my wife, clearing boxes in the cellar, just found two programmes from 1986 - v Swindon, in October, and v Bristol City, November- with a photo of Gordon Davies on the cover,Β re-signing for us.
I'm afraid I can't remember much about these games, but the team for Swindon was - Vaughan, Marshall, Cottington, Scott, Oakes, Parker, Barnett, Achampong, Coney, Hoddy, Lewington, and against City- Vaughan, Marshall, Hopkins, Scott, Oakes, Parker, Barnett, Hoddy, Coney, Kerrins, Davies.
Great pics of the Cottage in leaner times. When was the Putney end renovated?
