Hmmm. Can only see it if Slav wants two of Kebano/Ak47/Fonte/Ayite gone. At 2MM for a fringe player that's a net 7MM on our sale. Don't think we go in at 4

If true, it cements the expectation that we have a system and we are sticking to it.  Sone Aluko knows the system, operates effectively in it and had a great season with us.  We aren't going to pin our faith on him playing 30 games, but that's going to be true of some we sign, whatever happens.

Zero on this on the internet so not holding out too much hope.

In theory though an interesting idea.

Was a very respectful dialogue between Slav and Aluko on Sky after the Playoff finals. Wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to come back at all.

He also seemed really pleased for his ex-teammates that they (we) had done it. Clearly, the move to Reading didn't work out for him or Reading.

We could do a lot worse. Couldn't we part exchange him for Fonte and give Reading cash as well.

Have we forgotten the circumstances of his departure. His cryptic tweets about it someday coming out in a book. We didn't value him as highly as he valued himself. Rumours of a racism allegation as well. No chance of him coming back even if he was good enough for the premier league or young enough to improve. And he's neither anyway.

I think him and his sister are bad news. Likely wind each other up behind the scenes.

So we are signing Eni, too, are we? Juventus will be upset.
Still if you believe the stuff about Sone you might as well believe this too.

Intrigues me why you would think Eni Aluko is 'bad news'. Do you find the idea of an intelligent, articulate woman who is prepared to stick up for herself, her values and her beliefs, somehow disturbing?

I think FoF had this discussion when the Eni Aluko-England dispute hit the news. Ended in quite a long heated debate on the topic with a roughly 50:50 split. Let's not get back into it!

Although Sone made a good few extra £s from his move to Reading, it must've hurt watching our play last season, the home semi-final & the day at Wembley.

I would love to see Aluko back in our squad but just can't believe it, the idea just smells of a piece of smart lazy journalism.

Alternatively it could be a smoke screen to cover the fact than we have made no progress in signing players for the critical positions vacated by Fredericks, Kalas, Mitrovic, Tarrget and Norwood.

Her actions regarding the England set up may have cost the manager his job but in the end cost her her place in the England set up. While I will support her right to complain about comments or actions against her. The lack of support from many of her team mates could prove they were needless and petty.

Exactly. Like I imagine her teammates, I disagreed with Eni Aluko because of the way she handled the incident in the press and not because I thought she was wrong. I made it quite clear in the original thread I found the comments made against her inappropriate and unprofessional.

Unfortunately I doubt the three posters who made such fleeting comments about sexism on the previous page read those before their disappointing posts. A shame because I normally find those posters level headed and insightful.

Why do so many threads on here go off OP onto stupid tangents???
I would love to have Sone Aluko back at Fulham.  He might not be a 1st eleven starter, but he will be a good 'squad' member.
He knows how we like to play and has pace.  Yes his final shot is somewhat wayward, but if we can get him to just pass it to Mitro......

to be fair to sone I don't think he's played a full prem season starting,so as amazed as I am that this story is running with legs I loved watching him as he had a lot of assists and opposing players just weren't sure what he was going to do ,infact I don't think he knew as he seemed to play on instinct so  wouldn't mind if this happens.

Jury is out on this for me. At prem level a minor signing to bolster the squad (if it happens). Fine, but verging on the irrelevant.

Numbers don't always prove anything, Lighthouse.  Only evidence and facts lead us to something resembling the truth.  Eni Aluko is a pretty strong advocate for facts, evidence and fair trials.

As we see on here every day. One mans truth is anothers poppycock. I may truly believe that Sone Aluko would be a step back and yet he may be a success. If I say something to you in banter and jest and you take it seriously and sue me. Then 'truth' becomes nothing more than opinion. Lawyers and legal teams have been making money off it for years.

I find this a bit odd. He left last year as we were not prepared to offer him a two year contract, so a year later we offer him a contract and pay £4mill. Not sure this stands up to any scrutiny, but hey ho have been wrong before.

Sorry to see you really do not understand the difference between 'banter' and inappropriate or insensitive use of language which may be targeted at certain individuals but couldn't be used generally to others.  One episode may be put down to foolish error but when  repeated it becomes something entirely different.  Nobody should be targeted just because of some feature of their appearance or background or individuality they can do absolutely nothing about.  People in responsible jobs have a duty to act responsibly.  If you don't understand then you have a problem.

I liked Aluko, very specific player who worked well with us and perhaps not for others, regardless of league, even the EDL.

We barely have a starting 11 at the moment. 4m surely includes appearances and add ons. You know what you will get.

Boy, this thread escalated quickly.....4m for a player that's never really cut it in EPL and overall has barely lit up the championship is strange really. I'd place the question mark over the player, not the price tag considering current market though. You'd think we could invest/attract in better quality than Aluko now we're in the EPL. Saying this, if Slav wants him back, so be it, I trust him above all else.

Was just the last person to reply to that wasn't talking about specifically the Aluko transfer, nothing personal buddy, was just trying to get the discussion back to the OP topic. Should of probably used that reply filter thing better! Anyway, as squad filler, 2-3m as Fred said is probably fair especially if Slav wants him. Still got question marks on whether he'd contribute much but he certainly seems good for the changing room based on his social media interactions with current players.

No, not worth 4m. Not even on a free IMO. Fun to watch at his best but no end product, poor for Reading last season and would be a step backwards.

Statto are you on 12.5% or something?? Im sure old Nick is big enough to speak for himself. How would you know whether he knows the "ins and outs of the case" irrespective of whether they have been widely reported or not?? What a thick thing to say

And the EDL  "a movement against islamic extremism"?? come on pal pull the other one hahahahhhahahah They are BNP / NF splinter group or at least thats what's been "widely reported".

Enjoy your evening

Snowflake???

This thread is seemingly being jumped all over by bored people on a hot Tuesday evening.

Having Aluko back is nonsense - he could hardly cut in the Champ and had one good season when he missed a hat full.  We need Prem class players not squad fillers.  Reading were rash and as they say, you reap what you sow (us with Fonte? Yes).

So stop all this nonsense please and cast thoughts forward to worthwhile additions to our squad, not make weights.  They are two a penny.

Would you like to guess who said the following "Islam is not a religion of peace. Islam is fascist and it's violent and we've had enough!"

Unless it was Aluko, Slav or the OP, its pretty irrelevant to this thread isn't it?
Who are you to say what is relevant or irrelevant?  A serious question.

Wasn't it Churchill?

Has Aluko arrived at Motspur Park yet, have there been any recent sightings ?

It wasn't Churchill but he said similar which is not widely reported. Not a sentiment I share. On the subject I loved aluko and think he is better than what we had last season. BUT if he left because he wanted a long, lucrative contract why would we give it to him a year older in a better league?

If I have learnt anything from this thread, it's don't take a post/rumour from TIFF and put it on here.

To make my comment relevant to the thread I would presuppose that any interest in Sone Aluko would be as mentor of some quality (kind of a Scott Parker figure) based, perhaps, on his influence over the season before last.

On the subject of threats about 'insults and racist nonsense' and the like, I am, as 'nose' once said,  I am stunned. The lack of comprehension of some contributors is breathtaking.

On the subject of the quote question nobody has got close except for fashion140 who sums up EDL rather better than Statto did.  The quote was from 'Tommy Robinson' (born Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon) who co-founded  EDL.  For more information about this guy Wiki is priceless.

Nonsense, we discuss rumours from anywhere happily all the time on FOF
.
When the first thick poster switched the discussion to his Sister the Mods should have squashed it.

Hi Tosh, I agree with you. And I think you will find that Steve Bannon (rather more influential than T Richardson) lifted the quote and recycled it. An example of how easy it is for poison to go viral in our society where social media plays such a big part of shaping opinion.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek with my post.

Normally I would agree with you - when someone criticises a woman it must mean they're sexist. But in this case the subject is black, so actually he may be racist. Obviously it must be one of the two.
This is where you started to make the whole thread a dog's dinner.  Even if it is tongue-in-cheek it is crass.
