'Financing the Plea deal' – Most Newcastle fans keen on pushing ace out of St. James' Park

The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to letting Aleksandar Mitrovic go this summer. The club have long been ready to sell the striker and this summer looks like the right time to let him go, with Fulham prepared to fork out the £20 million asking price.

The Magpies have been linked with a number of strikers in the past few months. Alassane Plea and Nikolai Jorgensen are the two where there seemed to be some substance behind the rumours, although the way things have been going with Plea it's unlikely the Frenchman will end up at St James Park after Tottenham and West Ham have both supposedly lodged bids for the striker.

The Geordies aren't confident that they can compete with either the Lilywhites or the Hammers financially but if they do manage to sign Plea it would be a huge coup for the club. At the moment, minus Mitrovic, Rafa Benitez's side currently have just Dwight Gayle and Joselu to be deployed up top and neither of them has looked like a convincing Premier League striker. The club will be looking to sign a goalscorer, and the Mitrovic money will be vital in bringing someone in.

Middlesbrough announce signing of Fulham defender

Middlesbrough have announced the signing of highly-rated 17-year old defender Djed Spence from Fulham, via their official website. Spence has signed for the clubs academy on a long term contract.

Middlesbrough captured the young defender from the Cottagers' academy, and Djed Spence will join up with Middlesbrough's youth ranks for the upcoming season.

Spence was originally on trail with Middlesbrough at the end of last season, and at the age of 17 played for Boro's under 23 side. The Teessiders were so impressed with the young defender that they decided to offer him a contract at the club.

With Spence having made an impression on Middlesbrough's youth team coaches after just one game played for the under 23s, it suggests just how good this youngster is.

Middlesbrough recently allowed many youth players to leave the club after terminating or not renewing contracts. This means that they will now be actively looking to rejuvenate and reinvigorate their youth system, starting with the signing of Djed Spence.

Along with Spence, Middlesbrough also offered a contract to 19-year old Wigan Athletic defender Sam Stubbs, who is the son of former Everton and Celtic defender Alan Stubbs.

It has been a busy week for the academy staff behind the scenes, as along with Spence and Stubbs, Boro have given out professional contracts to a number of prospects.

Midfielder Connor Malley and goalkeepers Brad James and Zach Hemming have penned long-term deals with the club. Whereas short-term deals have been given to midfielder Amadou Sylla and defender James Cook this week.

Highly rated coach departs Tottenham

The club have announced that Scott Parker has left his role as U18's coach and will join Fulham to be part of their first team coaching role at Craven Cottage.

Highly rated coach Parker  joined the coaching staff last summer after he retired from playing, with his ambition of one day becoming a manager.

He had completed some of his coaching badges under the instruction of Spurs academy head John McDermott, and was involved with coaching youth players at White Hart Lane before he left to play for final club Fulham.

Parker officially retired at the end of the 2016/17 season and within days was announced as the newest member of the Spurs backroom staff.

The 36-year-old had spent four years at Craven Cottage following his departure from Spurs but decided to hang up his boots after two decades of action.

He was and inspirational player for Tottenham between 2011 and 2013, making 62 appearances.  The Lambeth born star also represented Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Newcastle United and West Ham United, and played 18 times for England.

John McDermott, Head of Academy Coaching and Player Development, said on Parker's departure: "Scott was a tremendous influence on our young players far beyond his Under-18 remit last season and, utilising his vast experience in the game, was absolutely first-class in the way he applied himself to the role and helped to nurture the talents of the players and colleagues he worked with.

He added: "In the Academy, we pride ourselves on developing not only footballers for careers in the professional game but coaches and support staff as well. Earlier this year we saw another of our coaches, Justin Cochrane, earn a role within the England national youth set-up while numerous other talented individuals are now thriving in top-level roles having cut their teeth working with our Academy.

He also said: "Scott is our latest success story in that respect and while we are obviously sad to lose a figure of such professionalism and integrity, we are pleased that he has been able to take a first team position in the Premier League as he furthers his own development as a coach. As a Club, we thank him for his services and wish him all the best for the future."

Matt Wells will assume coaching responsibilities for the U18s

Fulham youngster Edun eyed by Football League trio

HITC Sport understands several clubs are chasing Fulham midfielder Edun on loan.

Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun is a loan target for a number of Football League clubs, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

The likes of Ipswich Town, Barnsley and Shrewsbury have all made enquiries about taking the versatile performer on loan for next season.

Edun, who has come through the ranks at Fulham, is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Craven Cottage and was handed a new deal last summer.

The 20-year-old made his debut for Fulham in the League Cup win over Leyton Orient in September 2016 and he has gone on to make seven appearances in Slavisa Jokanovic's side.

Edun has figured for England all the way up from Under-17s to Under-20s and he was a member of the England Under-19s that won the U19 European Championships last summer and was subsequently named in the team of the tournament.

Edun is likely to find his first-team opportunities limited next season as a result of the club's promotion to the Premier League and several sides are monitoring his situation.

Fulham are considering sending Edun out on loan so that he gain more first-team experience and they are now deciding where they feel is the right fit for the player and club.

Middlesbrough confirm new arrival from Premier League side

Middlesbrough have announced the arrival of highly-rated 17-year old defender Djed Spence from Fulham.

Boro, who announced the news on their official website, have swooped for the defender as part of a larger recruitment drive at their academy.

Spence joins the Boro academy after playing one game on trial for their U23s,against Newcastle, towards the end of last season. He's described on the Fulham website as 'a versatile defender with bags of pace'.

The right-back has a Checkatrade Trophy appearance to his name, featuring in Fulham U21s 3-2 defeat against Charlton Athletic back in November. He made 13 U18 Premier League appearances last season and a further six in the Premier League 2, the U23 division.

Sam Stubbs, son of former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs, has also signed for Boro. He has played for both Fylde and Crewe on loan and joins from Wigan Athletic's academy, where he'd spent four years after a switch from Everton.

A total of 12 players have been offered places with the academy, including Alberto Balde, a Madrid-born UK citizen and Frenchman Isiah Cornet.

The Verdict

Both Spence and Stubbs look to be sound investments for the future and will be looking to emerge from the same academy that brought Boro Ben Gibson, now primed for a huge eight-figure move.

It's now up to the two players to develop significantly enough to either break through, or earn some game time out on loan in the lower divisions.

Ipswich Town transfer rumour: Another England youth international heading to Blues?

Ipswich Town are among the clubs interested in taking Fulham youngster Tayo Edun on loan, reports HITC Sport.

The 20-year-old made four appearances for the Cottagers last season – twice in the League Cup towards the start of the season and twice in the Championship in November.

Left-footed, he can play defensive midfield or at left-back and was recently on trial with MLS side Portland Timbers.

Ipswich, along with League One duo Barnsley and Shrewsbury, are said to be among the clubs to have made enquiries about the player following Fulham's promotion to the Premier League.

Edun has represented England from U17 to U20 level and was an international team-mate of Blues duo Andre Dozzell and Trevoh Chalobah when the young Three Lions won the European U19 Championships last summer.

He was sent-off in the final, but was named in the Team of the Tournament.

Town could be well represented at this summer's European U19 Championships, which will take place in Finland later this month, with Chalobah, Dozzell, Tristan Nydam and Flynn Downes all in contention.

The Blues currently have versatile full-back Kane Vincent-Young – a right-footer who played left-wing back last season – on trial at their warm weather training camp in Spain after he turned down a new deal at League Two side Colchester United.

Town left-back Jonas Knudsen will be given extra time off after featuring for Denmark in the World Cup.

Fulham confident of permanent Aleksandar Mitrovic deal
Newcastle prepared to sell striker but want upwards of £20m

Fulham are in talks with Newcastle to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic and are confident of concluding a deal for the striker, Sky Sports News understands.

The Magpies are prepared to sell the Serbia international, who helped fire the Whites into the Premier League during an explosive loan spell last season, but want upwards of £20m for his transfer.

Crystal Palace have also shown an interest in Mitrovic but the player is understood to want to continue his successful spell at Craven Cottage and Fulham are not concerned about rival bids at this stage.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the opening goal for Serbia against Switzerland at the World Cup

Mitrovic enjoys a good relationship with Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic - a fellow Serb - and scored 12 Championship goals after joining the club on loan just before the winter transfer window closed.

The Whites want to sign all their loan stars from last season on permanent deals including Matt Targett, Oliver Norwood, Lucas Piazon and Tomas Kalas - and they made an offer of £10m to Southampton for Targett.

Fulham also remain interested in Swansea's Jordan Ayew and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish.

Newcastle are interested in replacing Mitrovic with Nice striker Alessane Plea - also a name on Fulham and Tottenham's lists - but face competition from West Ham.

Fulham edging towards Mitrovic deal

Fulham look on course to clinch the permanent signing of Aleksandar Mitrovic from Newcastle.

Crystal Palace are also keen on the striker, whose major impact after joining Fulham on loan in January helped the Whites win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

But Mitrovic has indicated that he wants to sign for Fulham, who appear to be making good progress in talks with Newcastle.

Mitrovic, 23, scored 12 goals in 17 Championship appearances following his loan move to Craven Cottage.

Fulham are keen to sign all five of the players who starred for them on loan last season.

They want to buy Lucas Piazon and Tomas Kalas from Chelsea, have made Southampton an offer for Matt Targett and remain interested in a potential deal to sign Oliver Norwood from Brighton despite previously having an offer rejected.

Meanwhile, former Fulham captain Scott Parker has returned to the club as first-team coach.

Fulham To Rival Crystal Palace For European Ace: Can He Cut It In The Lillywhites Squad?

Fulham are strongly considering a summer move for Fenerbahce midfielder, Ozan Tufan but are joined in the chase by Crystal Palace. The Eagles have already put forth a £2.5m bid, giving themselves an advantage in the competitive race. The Turkish outfit understandably might just reject Palace's offer with increasing interest from other English clubs. The 23-year-old also made a switch from Bursaspor to Fenerbahce in 2015 for a much higher fee of £6m.

Now that Fulham have earned their place in the 2018/19 Premier League season, it is expected that they will make some big-money trades in order to compete against the country's elite. However, the Cottagers are yet to announce a signing so far this summer but have already parted ways with two of their players (Ryan Fredericks and George Williams). Getting Tufan into the club will definitely strengthen their midfield position and add a different dynamic to the club's offensive end.

The 23-year-old has already been capped 31 times for the Turkey national team with 4 goals registered to his name. He started off his professional career with a lot of promise, appearing in 28 of Turkey's U17, U18 and U19 games and scoring once.

However, over the past year, the midfielder's prospects did not quite pan out with Sarı Lacivertliler as he fell out of the rotation and only made 14 appearances last term. Now that Phillip Cocu has taken charge of the Istanbul-based outfit, it is unclear whether Tufan will be integrated in the Dutchman's future plans.

Standing at 6 feet tall, the midfielder has a lot of talent which is still hidden under the covers of injuries and sheer bad luck. Tufan naturally likes to operate from the deep box-to-box role, putting in an equal amount of effort on both ends of the pitch.

He is technically adept at carrying the ball forward and linking up with his teammates but also in making those timely interceptions and winning back possession. The Turkish midfield ace can also hold down the central anchor role if needed and also the positions on the right flank, making him a versatile entity for his side.

Still only 23, Tufan can easily fill into his early promise by switching sides at this point of his career. Craven Cottage seems like a very lucrative escape where he will be able to prove his worth to an even bigger audience in the near future.

Fulham request Milan's Musacchio

Fulham have asked Milan to buy defender Mateo Musacchio, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The Argentine centre-back turns 28 next month and has also been linked with Sevilla and Udinese.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, English side Fulham have made an initial approach to get Musacchio on a permanent transfer.

He was signed from Villarreal a year ago for €18m, but struggled for much regular first team football.

Musacchio made only 22 competitive appearances between Serie A, the Coppa Italia and Europa League, but still contributed one goal and one assist.

Fulham make Musacchio enquiry
by Dan on July 4, 2018

Fulham have enquired about the availability of AC MIlan defender Mateo Musacchio, according to reports from Italy this evening.

Sky Sport Italia are suggesting tonight that the Premier League new boys have registered their interest in signing the Argentinian centre back on a permanent basis with the Italian giants. The 27 year-old joined Milan from Villareal last May in a deal worth €18m, but Musacchio has struggled to make an impact in Serie A. He has made just 22 senior appearances for Milan, scoring a single goal. He has long been rumoured to be ready to leave Italy this summer in an attempt to resurrect his career.

Musachio, who made his name by helping River Plate win the Clausura as a teenager in 2008, played 249 first team games for Villareal during seven years at the Estadio El Madrigal but has suffered with injury problems throughout his time in Europe. The 5ft 11in central defender, who has won six senior caps for Argentina, has three years to run on his current contract and is conservatively valued at around £11m. Milan might be willing to sell Musacchio for less having been fined and banned from European football for breaching UEFA's FFP regulations last month.

Slavisa Jokanovic, who retains a keen interest in Spanish football from his playing career with Oviedo, Tenerife, Deportivo La Coruna and Ciudad de Murcia, is keen to strengthen his defensive options ahead of Fulham's return to the Premier League next month. Fulham have been heavily linked with an attempt to make the loan move of Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas, who has been spent two seasons at Craven Cottage permanent, but no deal has yet been finalised between the west London neighbours.

After selling Gustavo Gomez to Boca Juniors, Milan continue their defence make-over. The Rossoneri have in fact received an offer from Fulham for Argentinian defender Mateo Musacchio. AC Milan are currently working to offload players this summer in order to afford a few signings. According to the latest reports, Mate Musacchio could be forced to leave the club.

As stated by Gianluca Di Marzio, Fulham are interested in signing the Argentinian, who got limited playing time with Milan last season. The English side would like to sign Musacchio on a permanent deal, and the first concrete offer has already been presented.

The future of the defender remains uncertain and Milan are currently evaluating the offer, although the feeling is that they could let Musacchio go for a certain amount.

Fulham mulling Boyata bid
by Dan on July 4, 2018

Fulham are considering tabling an offer for Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata on account of his World Cup exploits with Belgium, according to the Scottish Sun.

The 27 year-old defender has only a year to run on his current Celtic contract and, although Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers hasn't conceded defeat in convincing the former Manchester City centre back to extend his deal, Boyata's composed displays in Russia could spark a bidding war amongst some of Europe's leading clubs for his services. The Sun report suggests that Lazio had been tracking Boyata in Russia, whilst Fulham are now mulling over whether to make an offer as they look to strengthen their defence this summer.

Celtic are reluctant to sell Boyata, who has made 92 appearances in three seasons with the Scottish giants, but could be persuaded to cash in on his excellent international form should he not be willing to sign a new contract. The 6ft 2in centre half was called into Roberto Martinez's squad for Russia having made a real impression north of the border as an integral part of the Celtic side that stormed to three consecutive league titles.

Boyata, who came through the youth ranks at Manchester City having moved to England from Brussels back in 2006, started all three of Belgium's group games at the World Cup. He has been attracting attention from a number of Turkish and French sides since the end of the season – and Fulham would face stiff competition for his signature. Boyata may relish the opportunity of proving himself in the Premier League, having made just twelve league appearances in four seasons at Manchester City, and the Sun suggests that the Whites would be willing to offer him a substantial wage increase.

Fulham eyeing Plattenhardt swoop
by Dan on July 4, 2018

Fulham have been linked with a move for Hertha Berlin's German international left-back Marvin Plattenhardt by German tabloid Bild.

The Whites are among six English clubs who are willing to test Hertha's resolve to keep hold of their highly-rated defender, who was part of Joachim Löw's squad that crashed out of the World Cup at the group stage last week. Bild names Everton, Huddersfield Town, Watford and Bournemouth as Fulham's rivals in the chase for the 26 year-old full back, with the Terriers presumed to be leading the race due to their strong links with Germany under head coach David Wagner.

It would take a sizeable offer to convince Hertha to part with Plattenhardt, with Bild suggesting a fee of around £22m, but the Bundesliga side do have a ready-made replacement in youngster Maximilian Mittelstädt. Plattenhardt, who has won six senior caps for his country since making his international debut against Denmark last June, helped a second-string Germany side win the Confederations Cup last summer and was one of the few brights spots during their disastrous World Cup campaign.

He has made 121 senior appearances in four years with Hertha – scoring five goals – and has a reputation as a dead-ball expert. Fulham are searching for a new left-back ahead of the new campaign having seen their £10m bid for Matt Targett, who made such an impression on loan at Craven Cottage during the second half of last season as Slavisa Jokanovic's side won the Championship play-offs, rejected by Southampton. Jokanovic sees the strengthening of his defence as crucial to preparing Fulham for the Premier League and also allowing young starlet Ryan Sessegnon to fully express himself from the left wing.

Fulham reportedly make an offer for Musacchio, Milan considering whether or not to part ways with the defender

Mateo Musacchio is wanted by Fulham and the English club has apparently sent Milan an official bid for him.

Musacchio only joined Milan last summer but due to the expected arrival of Leonardo Bonucci from Juve, and the decision to ditch the 3-man defense system, the ex-Villarreal made didn't find the space he was hoping to find.

Milan, at the moment, are focusing on selling players, and after Gustavo Gomez (who has already passed his Boca Juniors medical), Musacchio can also be on the way out.

Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Fulham, who have been promoted to the Premier League, have made an offer for the 27-year-old center back and right now the Rossoneri are evaluating whether to accept it or not. Fulham's offer is concrete and it's to take Musacchio on a permanent basis.

Should Milan sell Musacchio in addition to Gomez, it's possible that they'll be on the market for a center back. In the last days they've met with the agent of the 20-year-old Filip Benković.
