This Pre season is pointless.... for the reasons posted many times before. 2 players in 8 out! 6 quality players short...
Any New signings unavailable to understand manager Tactics, positional awareness, team play, team understanding all MISSED.
lets pray Joka is up for the catch up challenge....

That's the spirit. Might as well throw the towel in now and settle for playing in the Championship next season.

Well.. it's true! The only thing the pre-season does is keep a smidgen of hope in the youth players and fringe players heads that one day they might get a game.

If twenty four hours is a long time in football then just over three weeks must feel like an eternity.   Of course dramatic changes can happen overnight, in an hour, in minutes, or even in a second, but until they happen there is apparent impasse on every front.

As it stands we are someway less of a team than we were on 26 May.  Our recruitment team is showing the same form as previously demonstrated – lots of air but not so much breathable oxygen.  Our pre-season therefore follows a similar pattern where it may feel easier to choke than take deep, refreshing breaths.  Our coaching staff may have a better idea of what lies ahead but at least they'll be trying to make the best of whatever it feels like.

We can be patient, frustrated, bothered or cool, and it will not change anything.   Venting an apparently negative opinion is no different to venting a positive one because they change nothing.  The scant highlights of the Fenerbahce game are not an adequate guide to what is happening now or may happen on the first PL Saturday in August, but there is still 'an eternity' of time left for people to shout their praise or criticism for what or who their own specialty is.

These matches are mainly for fitness purposes.

Also it's a good opportunity for the coaching staff to see how some of younger players match up against good quality opposition. Outside of pre-season, the only chance Slavisa could get to play some of the next generation is in the Cup. I'm not too bothered about losing to Fenerbahce - the key is getting our players fit for the season ahead.
