Haven't been this exited about a season since George best and Rodney marsh graced the hallowed turf
That was fun but there was no feeling that we were building for the future, as we are now.
I recall being disappointed that we'd made the cup final, which was one of the few ways of generating funds in those days, us appeared not to want to build on the younger nucleus of the team e.g. Mitchell, Lacey, Busby, Barrett et al but to fritter the money away on a couple of, admittedly brilliant, showmen, on their way down, which led us up a footballing cul de sac.
Our present owners seem to have a much better vision and deserve to succeed.
Oh i totally agree,but i was younger then and it was just brilliant to see those players playing for fulham

I hindsight it was a shortsighted policy but what fun while it lasted; Best, Marsh and Bobby Moore too. It was a hoot.
