At age 77. A decent man who was the UN's Special Envoy in the Balkans after that dreadful conflict there.

A very decent man and you can't say that about many of today's "leaders"

Used to drink in my local boozer. Odd character.
At least had a life before politics but I was never a fan of the ego/self promotion/halo.
Nonetheless, RIP.

I go past his house regularly in norton sub hamdon Somerset. Got buddy's round the corner.
Modest little terraced stone cottage. RIP paddy didn't know a lot about him.
