They have gone all in to try and stay up
Sounds like it was his decision
He wanted 2 go. Needed a break. Doesn't do us any favours though.
Very much his decision apparently (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190114/3e154a847be205412a2f5e9c352d4f77.jpg)

Reading his comments regarding recruitment from before the season started, this seemed inevitable even at that time. Either that or he would have been crowned a miracle worker upon the club's survival from relegation.
A real grown up relationship between manager and the club. It does us no favours but I admire the maturity of both parties
Am I the only one thinking it would be a smashing idea to approach him now, get him on a pre-contract agreement, he spends the rest of the season recharging the batteries whilst we see out the year with Claudio (as is only right). He'd be wonderfully placed to take us up again next year and plays good football.
If by some absolute miracle we beat Liverpool, City et all and stay up, I still think it's a good move and that he'd do very well with a decent budget behind him (Huddersfield are mid-level Championship at best, he's worked utter miracles there).
In all honesty, where would they be without him?

No you are not the only one
I would not complain he he turn up as our manager next season whatever division
Though if we are talking about mature relationships I would be delighted if we rehired Joka for the championship :-)
Would love him here for the Championship next season
Sorry but sacking Jokanovic then hiring Wagner 6 months later would just take the pi&&. What other backward steps will come next... are we going to announce that the new Riverside Stand will have 4,000 seats less than the current stand?

Would you take Wagner next season if we went down?
I really don't understand why Huddersfield play the poverty card all the time? They get the same, very handsome hand outs from the Prem as everyone else and while needing to cut their cloth, still have plenty to spend. Their Chairman is not related to Mr Oyston is he?
I'd hire Wagner tomorrow as first team coach by the way. Just pay him and get him in.
You can almost see it unfold.
Huddersfield sign Jokanovic as manager.
He takes them on a record unbeaten run.
They survive ahead of us by 1 point.
Wagner is a very good manager. His teams always give their all and play good stuff. Having said that he seems incapable of signing a good striker. I'm not thinking of the Championship just now but if we go down I'd definitely want him or Slavisa.
He's done such an amazing job getting them up and keeping them there for two seasons.
I'm genuinely surprised by this.

Probably came from him more than the club. The writing's on the wall, they need a new striker or they're down.
I'm surprised that he's thrown in the towel at this stage of the season.
I can't see anyone else keeping them up now - 8 points from safety and Man City to come on Sunday.
The guy genuinely wants a break from football; his employer agrees he should have the break now rather than after the end of the season. But, on here, the sensitivity of those two facts goes way over some people's heads.... Wagner clearly had good communication lines with his employer and was highly regarded which isn't so commonplace as it ought to be in football these days. Good luck to him whatever he chooses to do.
Done a great job and leaves without a relegation to his CV. Smart move.

Whoever comes in isn't going to get a lot of time to bring in any fresh faces so unless Huddersfield have a recruitment team working on this then maybe they are resigned to relegation.

And playing in an ultra defensive, compact style.
