Post by: Russ Goldman on February 24, 2019, 04:15:33 PM
This short episode is an interview with Cottage Talk co-host Emilio Di Nello on Love Sport Radio during their show "The Score". Emilio shared his view on the very disappointing loss for Fulham against West Ham.

Love Sport guy asks Emilio 'if you go down who would you want to keep to help build a promotion team?'
Good question. Rather than individual players, Emilio's response - Wolves got it right create a promotion winning squad that can transfer seamlessly & compete in Premier league-has a lot of merit.

We have at least the core of a PL squad now and wouldn't be far (if at all) behind Wolves if we had a decent manager and coherent tactical strategy IMO.

So the simple way to do what you say is to just to keep this team together.

Indeed, I think that's only way. A rebuild overseen by Mackintosh and Tony Khan, without the input of a Jorge Mendes equivalent, will likely yield much worse players, signed too late in August to mount a Championship promotion challenge,

Agreed, it's not a team of no-hopers. But the haphazard way the players were deposited at Motspur Park, seemingly without the knowledge of the coach, has helped create a dysfunctional squad.
