Of course, he should collect the money now, besides so I don't think a season on the sidelines and bench will do him any harm working on the training ground, he has played more professional football than Ruben Lofuts Cheek already and he can get in the gym strengthening up rather than playing for six months, he'll be a better player.
Not sure what he is earning at Fulham but when I (and Johnny Haynes) was his age I bet we would have looked upon it as very serious money.
His next jump will probably be into the obscene money.
