I once found a wallet under a seat in a Newmarket hotel.
It belonged to a 19 yo student girl at Warwick University.
Inside was driving licence, bank cards, students pass cards, and £110 in cash.
I handed it in at our local police station, and it was sent on to her.The police took my number and address, she never even sent a message to say thanks for handing it in...😠

Outside Fulham Library 8 or 9 years old, with my mates Reggie & Malcolm, we found a £10 note
Took it to the local police station where we were told come back after a month & if no one has claimed it,it's yours
The month seemed to last for ever
We went back to the nick, & guess what, it had been claimed!
But by whom.....?
DOH!!
PS we saw the scariest movie ever @ the Library
The Wizard of Oz, the wicked witch of the West, look out

I remember on the Fulham road many years ago, I was about 10-11. The cash machines used to have a screen that slid down over the keys and money slot. Inside my friend and I saw two crisp £20 notes. We were too young to have a cash card so hovered around till someone was about to use the other machine. A lady came along and we practically screamed at her to use this machine. She did and kindly gave us £20 for our troubles. Never have I been so happy.

All wasted on sweets and comics, obviously.
