Title: Do we actually have a defensive coach
Post by: Beamer on December 11, 2019, 04:49:44 PM
Only I see the same basic mistakes, strolling back rather than going with the man, losing the player at corners, getting turned inside out inside the box, etc etc with no real sign of improvement. These basic failures cost us goals week after week - what are the coaches actually telling them. Or is it that as a unit and/or individually they are simply incapable of learning.

As a secondry question, what on earth was Odoi thinking about, actually probably not thinking at all - amazing. I assume he won't be seeing his wages for a couple of weeks.

More a question of "do we any good defenders ?". It's been a recurring problem for several years and for some reason we stick with the same old faces. Hoping that Michael Hector is the beginning of a new dawn!

Hard to coach judgement- it was dreadful chest control by Mawson that led to the first goal. He didn't even need to play the ball. Everyone makes mistakes but that plus being outmuscled by David Nugent makes you wonder whether a miracle worker might be required
