Title: To Night Spurs v Boro
Post by: filham on January 14, 2020, 06:14:53 PM
I am hoping for a really hard match tonight with Spurs winning and Boro having only a couple of red cards to take back to the North East. Then still being demoralised while they prepare for the journey south again to the Cottage on Friday.

Something may work in our favour for a change.

I hope it goes to extra time .

Woodgate wanted to use spurs training ground for when they train before the fulham game but they said no so are using palace's traing ground instead

I hope that they'll take the opportunity to have a couple of really good nights out while they're down.  That and extra time, a few red cards and a couple of not overly serious injuries would be useful.

Boro absolutely clueless, Spurs in complete control...... shame really, doesn't look like anyone is going to get injured tonight. Not a trace of competitive action.

Boro improved in second half and are playing quite well. No sign of collapse and if not for Spurs reserve keeper may be closer.

They have improved a lot since terrible start to season.
Woodgate like Scottie learning each week in their first managerial jobs.

We can expect a 5 man defence and 4 protecting them across the middle. We will have to play well to beat them.

1. Terrible early mistake by Boro keeper to give Spurs the lead.

2. Game of two halves with Boro finding form and shape in 2nd half.

3. Boro set pieces and corners looked well prepared and dangerous.

Three things you can be sure of for  Friday.

1. Boro keeper will have a blinder.

2. Boro will bring their 2nd half form to the Cottage.

3. They will score at least one goal, in the air , against us from a set piece or corner.

There has to be a 4 that includes Pat Roberts

Jeez, Filham give us a break!

We really, really need another three points to put us four points behind Leeds who must feel the pressure we are putting.

Ended up going. Decent game but born only had like 2 chances incl. the goal.
Boro fans quiet for most of the game. Only after the goal they started really signing.

So without Mitrovoic, we need our strongest aerial players Hector, Mawson and KMac to defend.

I thought their midfield looked clueless for 90% of the game unable to do anything other than punt the ball long. The sort of game our midfield and wide players could really do well in.
However I'm getting bored of the amount of blinders that opposing keepers have against us.
Pretty sure we'll have enough even with Mitro out (not confirmed).

Watched the game and thought Spurs could have had 6 at least just poor finishing let them down. Boro managed a few attacks but did not look a great side bearing in mind Spurs were playing 2nd string. Although Boro did not have their starting 11 out. Bringing on Gestede at the end rally sums up their game.
