Does anyone know if this is the start of a complete 'makeover' or just the one stand? An earlier video a few months back that included FFC in many new ground developments showed the finished project which was so impressive but begged the question ; what about the rest?
Just one stand.
Looking as if most of the foundation and specialist river work is complete and that soon the superstructure will begin to take shape.
Always the fear now that because of Coronavirus projects will be postponed so it is good to see that progress is still being made.
Are we attaching the new riverside to the hammy end as it appears we are doing at the Putney end?

I imagine it'll have been considered and the Hammersmith and putney stands could be done.. whilst the stevenage is a protected grade listed site I believe, or perhaps I'm just making that up, and would be harder to get permissions.
I imagine the club sees the extra value in the riverside going first as it's on the river and opening it up with the views can bring a year round income, whilst we can slowly start building demand for the extra seats.

However, as part of the 1995 proposals, permission was given to make substantial changes (reduction in number of pillars and pitch side executive boxes in place of the enclosure for example) and in the 2001 plans, the entire stand with the exception of the facade was to go.
Therefore, changes to that side are possible in the future. However, I would imagine that such substantial reconstruction would be difficult whilst remaining and playing at the Cottage (positioning of cranes etc). The 2001 plans required moving out for a minimum of one year.

Wonder if they could leave the main structure of the Johnny Haynes, gut the inside and create more space inside. The Johnny Hayes and Cottage are what make Fulham a quaint group and the Thames gives gravitas. I would focus on the Hammersmith end next but as has previously been said, this would be for the fans benefit and probably not a revenue earner.

So we coud redo Hammy & Putney ends and reroof Stevenage Road whilst keeping the outer facade? As someone who watched FFC in the late 1950s on with no stand other than the Stevenage Road I always feel it has changed anyway.

Its all possible then, but whether there is a desire to completely modernise what is one of the great and few remaining traditional stands, im not sure.
Putney and Hammy ends for me, but a long way off none the less.
