Yesterday's game has to go to neeskens kebano. Not been mentioned here but I found myself watching him quite closely yesterday and thought he had a really good game. Anyone else?
I didn't notice him give the ball away, he tracked back and did the defensive job pretty well and I thought he gave their wing back a real game, thought he got the better of him of a number of occasions and kept their defence wondering if they could push forward.
I also wanted to say that it also dawned on me that he's been at the club for quite a while now, has always offered value when called upon and chipped in with the odd goal every now and then whilst seemingly being the consummate professional. Thought it about time he was given some appreciation as even with myself I can kind of just not attach as much value to him as he deserves. Been a great professional for the club in the time he's been here and probably important to appreciate that he's been at clubs like PSG in the past so could've had a bigger ego.
Decent performance. has worked on the defensive side of his game.
He did give the ball away, but lost some of his creativity, but was more disciplined.
As I said on another thread he should come in closer when there are attacks from the right. Also I asked is he not out of contract this Summer?
Was going to post the same.
Wouldn't say Kebano had a 'really good game', but he certainly involved himself in many of our attacks, attempted to take the fullback on and and managed to beat them a few times. It ultimately didn't amount to anything substantial but at least he was trying to make things happen.
Can't say the same about Cavaleiro; who while it's good to see marauding around in stoppage time it's not what he's supposed to be in the team to provide.
I love Kebano. I really rate him despite that he's seemed to have lost some flair or energy from previous seasons. I think he's a consummate pro like StefJo.
Kebano looked dangerous, he beat his man and his control was excellent.
Also unlike Cav, who was terrible, he stayed on his feet and kept working until he was subbed .
Sometimes in football you try to do too much, beat the first man, beat the second man, then you get the 'impulsion' to be Pelé, Gerson, Tostão, Rivelino or Jairzinho, when you should just pass to a team mate.
Was our best attacking player for me yesterday. Hope he starts against Cardiff

I was looking on another site, don't know what one but appeared to be a Fulham based site, and he was being slagged off big time by a few people, people are entitled to their opinions, but I find it strange how people look at the same player/performance and come up with completely opposite views.
Worked hard and tried to take on players, often successfully. I'd like to see him get in the box more as he's a good finisher.

depends on what you class as a good performance. You could argue that our front 3 who ever it maybe have failed in the last 5 due to the fact they haven't scored, got an assist or even created much at all. Kebano was best if a bad bunch for me yesterday
I thought he put some good crosses across the box - Mitro might just have enjoyed them. He does try to go outside his marker, and got past a few times yesterday, but that always carries a risk of being dispossessed. I don't see that as giving the ball away - not in the same way that a misplaced pass does. Nobody complains, rightly, when Cairney makes a throughpass that is intercepted.
Yes , Kebano is a nice player and there seems little to choose among Kebano, Reid, Knock, or Cav. Put all four names in a hat and pick out any two to play either side of Mitro on Friday and the result is likely to be the same with neither of them scoring..
For me, neither Knockaert or Cav look to play Mitro in. When they cut inside (often) the angle for the delivery to Mitro is wrong. It's time to try the alternatives - at least on one wing.

totally agree with you, and if ak was fit he would be a dead cert to start on the right for me too. We would have a bloody good bench as well with knockaert cav and Reid all available to come on when required too.
He looked good, he's got good feet and like how he takes on his fullback
Kebano needs to get more game time than he does, I like him and he deserves a run. Cav and Knock have been given a lot of opportunities and not really produced. Whereas Kebano does not get the same opportunity,
For me Cav has been overall a big disappointment this season, he needs to get his backside into gear and his act together now.
I thought that whilst he did get the ballover a couple of times he lost control of the ball more often than he used too. I personally would have preferred we hung on to ayite although they have slightly different rolls.

ayite was always injured though
Neeskins was decent but was played on the left again when he would have been more effective on the right, at least he made a few crosses with his left and wasn't constantly cutting inside. This obsession with inverted wingers drives me mad, beat your man on your preference side and cross it to the best striker in the division OR don't take on the defender and use your preferred foot to square it to Cairney who squares it to Reed who squares it to Ream who squares it to Hector.... why is it that our style of play seems to be based on Mitro being isolated and denied a decent service!?

Find it hard to believe that having had from start to January to assess Cav, we still committed to pay big money for him.
I think they should be aiming to get to the line and cross low and hard, had devastating effect at Reading earlier this season.

Yes I am surprised also, not sure about FULHAMS judgement there. We need Harrison Reed to be signed permanently as he is the one player that has shown his quality consistently and should be a priority signing.
